I watched and enjoyed every bit of Michael Palin travel series. They are the best travel documentaries ever made.

Funny he should say about toast.
Back in the 80's in Majorca we tried to get toast in the hotel but even with the Thomson staff who could speak some Spanish and then some Belgian entertainment staff who spoke better Spanish asking the Spanish staff there didn't appear to be a Spanish word for toast. It was a weird thing but now seeing this 40 years later perhaps it wasn't as strange as we thought !

It's not just the toast though, init? Can't tell yer how often I couldn't get toast and marmalade when out and about in Germany. Never in France. Baguettes is nice, yeah, but..........Sing it Ian......"I'l go get the post, and make us tea and toast". And even when I got the toast, of course, the tea wasn't quite right. Not at all a proper cuppa . sincerely , the anglophile yank.
