As somebody who picked up guilty gear literally today as their first fighting game in years it's honestly awesome to see other people also getting into it lol
Fun fact, a lot of new players don't know how to deal with Sol's far slash attack. If you make them block that over and over again chances are you just get a free counter hit
One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give you is use your meter more, I’ve seen a lot of situations in this video where you could’ve cancelled a move or used a super and won the round, you should also use volcanic viper more, as it’s invincible at the start
Thanks for that. I completely forgot about roman cancel and Viper I was too worried about getting punished, but again I could roman cancel out of it. I'll be working on it for next video
@@NickIcyTails you can only Roman cancel it on hit or block, if it misses entirely you can’t cancel it, so you should be careful, but most the time they aren’t baiting for it, especially on floor 6
Omg I’ve been waiting for this for so long I love your content and I’ve been hoping that you would play guilty gear for so longest time it’s like a dream come
As someone who has very little fighting game experience I love Strive. Im helping two friends learn it as their first fighting game. Ive got a decent amount of hours in the game now and it only gets more fun the more you play!
That's good you have your buddies to play and learn with together. The game feels good even at the beginner so I'm excited to play and figure out more.
I fully understand you're new so I hold none of this against you but... I was definitely yelling at my screen a few times that you had a full Tension meter that could be saving you lol. Overall, you did pretty good for being new
Hi! You did really good but there’s a couple little tricks that could really help you out 1: you can approach with a bandit revolver and Roman cancel it to make it safe and you get free high/low/grab mix 2: wild assault or supers are better to break the wall with because you get free oki in the next interaction. 3: Roman cancel helps you make bigger combos that do more damage, which is pretty cool 4: when you hit slash into heavy slash not near a wall, using bandit revolver is better because it carries them further to said wall so you get more free pressure
Thank you and thanks a bunch for the tips. I had only did the first set of training missions to learn the controls so I COMPLETELY forgot how to do it when I was recording. I did practice Roman cancel combos off camera afterwards so I'll definitely make a note what you told me
@@NickIcyTails yeah no problem! Some more SOL specific stuff, your 5k is frame 3, super fast so sometimes you can just mash that, your close and far slash are plus on block so you can do pretty much whatever you want (including run up grab after a slash, roman cancel, then combo) and also dp just gets you out of disadvantage so much more than it should
Thanks, I know for next time. I noticed how easy it is to jump super early on so I barley use it already. I'll have dust combos going into next video because I'm invested now.
@@NickIcyTailsoh nice! :3 personally i havent really learned any dust combos yet cause i find midair jump cancelling kinda finnicky, but i look forward to seeing more of your experience with strive :3
I regret not getting this game when it was new. Easy 8/10 score. I'm excited to get better at it Enjoy💙
P.S. LET ME KNOW IF IT'S TOO BLURRY...

That might explain how to got to the 7th floor so quickly with no GG experience what so ever.

I''m really enjoying myself so far. I could do without Happy Chaos going bang the whole match.

Thank you. I've gotten a lot of helpful tips and feedback that I plan to show it in the next video. Started learning what all the bars are for.

What are these floor 7 players? there's no way its the same people I'm playing against
No idea, maybe I just got lucky. I only won one set out of all the full sets so I'm really nervous to see the floor 7 players you are getting.
Guys I think he has more than 0 hours now

It has been awhile King. I see you changed your name. Thanks for the kind words it's been fun branching slowly to other game and topics.
oh also the super grab is actually fullscreen, it just got caught on the clone at 9:24
also its very much jumpable on reaction :p

You did amazing if u went in blind online. Nice video👍🏽
Thank you. I only did the beginner training missions to learn the buttons. All moves and combos I was learning on the fly.
