Bear Mountain State Park is 45 miles north of New York City, in the Hudson Highlands. One of the most visited parks in the Northeast, Bear Mountain hosts more than 3 million annual visitors. The Bear Mountain Inn, a rustic-style historic building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, provides overnight accommodations, fine dining, banquet rooms, meeting facilities, and dining options. Bear Mountain's approximately 5,000 acres of open spaces are accessible by car and bus as well as by the extensive system of pedestrian and hiking trails including the first section of the Appalachian Trail. Bear Mountain is a day-use park.
