Did you get the grades you were expecting? I just finished my first semester of freshman year and I had one teacher who seemed to hate giving me a grade above a C, but I ended up getting a B. I'm from NYC but I'm applying to transfer to colleges upstate. I hear good things about Syracuse, glad you're enjoying it

Amelia Rose Hello! I know you asked Margot but i'm currently a senior right now and I thought i could help out! If you're looking to get into the top schools in the country then I would say that is the case, ideally a 4.0 but at least a 3.9 or above to make yourself competitive in the applicant pool. But there are plenty of other good schools you can get into without a 4.0. Always keep your grades in mind but don't stress out too hard, it's high school, don't forget to have fun! All you can do is try your best, regardless of how good your gpa is!
Amelia Rose they tend to look at regular more, just because every school has their own weighting system, so gpa's can be hard to compare. but they also look at the difficulty of your class rigor, so if you take all the hardest classes and end up with a 3.9, you will look better than another person who took all the easy classes and ended with a 4.0
