very few bands can make a great sounding song without processing. Fun is one of them. I hope to god ya'll get back together for another album some time.

Hey y'all, I'm surprised so many people thought of that, I guess the tunes are really fitting for a stage adaptation.
I discovered Fun. about 4 years ago, and for the last couple of years I've been pretty obsessed with Aim & Ignite, something about it kept me listening to the whole album at least once a week, until I realized it was somewhat speaking to me, as if the tracklist was already narrating a story by itself.
After a while it became impossible for me to listen to it without picturing the characters, their relationships, and even thinking about transitions from one song to the other and inserting leitmotifs (As @Eternal Destinee mentioned, the intro to "Be Calm" and the last part of "At Least I'm not as Sad" share a strong harmonic resemblance).
Eventually I started collecting my thoughts and for couple of months I've been working on a stage adaptation concept: no dialogue, no stage directions, just a plain summary of the story during the musical numbers and between them, with also some focus on the characters.
It will be only a small starting point for a full-fledged musical, not quite unlike some sort of fanfiction. Sadly though, I'm afraid fanfiction is the most we'll ever be able to get, since Fun. seems to have disbanded in the worst way possible, and I don't think they'd be willing to grant the rights for even a small production.
I know your comments here are years old, but if you're reading this, I'd love for you guys to have it once I'm done writing it. I may post it on the Fun./Format subreddit? I'm not even sure there is a proper Fun. fanbase anymore. If you're still out there, I'll gladly keep you updated.
