For a game with this many possible moves, perfect play is nigh impossible. Chess computers aren't perfect yet, and that's a powerful ml algorithm attacking a much simpler game. There's no building units, there's only one map (whith is very homogeneous) and every unit has fewer ways to move, etc. Then you bring in the randomness. There's so many times where you would have to lay out the probability of the play succeeding vs the gain or loss of success or failure built on top of the inherent complexity. As if that's not enough, there's imperfect information in fog. Now you also have to guess what the opponent has, where they have it, what is the probability of each case, and find a viable move that benifits you in most scenarios. It's not just improbable, it would be ludicrous to think anything short of a quantum computer can play advance wars with perfect plays. If we consider an imperfect play to be a mistake, then 99% of all turns taken by anyone (outside of the capture phase) have at least one mistake somewhere in them. It's just maths.
Some thoughts: early capture of that back city is dangerous because it requires dedication of 2 vehicles which puts you at extreme risk of losing the entire contested front. When i first played this map with cookie I vastly underestimated how powerful early artillery at the location cookie setup at would be. Finally, sami may be very strong on this map since she can root out that infantry with a single infantry of her own delivered by tcopter giving her an income and info boost over her opponent and a crucial vehicle advantage if her opponent tries to copy.
Yeah, Sami will have a much easier time dealing with the Peeping Tom and back city than anyone else and conversely makes it more difficult for the other player. Definitely want to be a pain and force them to invest more vehicles for longer trying to get rid of your infantry in the forests. The arty setup was really good. definitely a pain to try and crack it with that pipe and forest there. I agree that it looks like a pretty good map for Sami, especially with the open HQ. She's just more difficult to pilot than anyone else in her tier. For instance, Jake has much stronger vehicles, especially with all the abundance of plains. If Jake falls behind a bit in unit count by losing some early infantry it isn't that big of a deal. Jake's powers are more focused on his vehicles so they will work as a comeback mechanic that isn't being hampered by those early infantry losses. Sami, however, does not get that wiggle room. If she is behind because of early infantry losses then her powers are also weaker so her comeback potential is hurt as the players transition into the mid and late game with more vehicle purchases.
@@Go7Penguin agreed, whats good for sami though is that that backwards capped city helps justify a tcopter which then accelerates mech play to much earlier than you would normally be able to achieve. I think jake and sami are the clear picks on this map but i dont think one is superior to the other, though one is definitely easier to play.
Yeah I feel like Sami as a CO didn't do anything this match, and I can't blame because what the hell are you supposed to do with her in situations like this. Block Rock is clearly supposed to smash through the walls of her indirect and infantry-focused build here.
'I make a lot of mistakes'
GO7, most rated player in FoW.
It is true XD I have far from perfect play. Come take my crown :D

Thank you for the video! Good job explaining the importance of unit count as a Sami.
It is something that took a long time to get beaten into my head XD

Yo! Go7 called me a birdy?! 💙
Welcome to Cobalt Ice! Where every birdy has their day!
Hi!!
I haven't seen your channel before. Feeling guilty about it.
Its on my watch later playlist :)
Hello. Congratulations on 1600 point of ranking and start of your youtube channel.
all hail the king of penguins

Oh look its me
You've got yourself some RUclips fame!
Do you find it helpful to have the grid on?
I think it helps for the replay readability, but I don't use it in game. Though I'm sure it would be helpful there too.
Only 14 subs haha hope this channel blows up soon
There may be few, but they are mighty!
now 37
now 46
Do you play with grid on?
I don't, but there is no harm in doing so
