Lighting is just as art than anything else, it conveys a story without the need of language.
Pause the video on the 1917 bunker when McKay turns and the inside of his hat lights up. So accidental, which means so perfectly planned.

Deakins has a podcast that regularly gives out great info so there's just more material to work with. But we love all the great cinematographers!
