Because her voice was over qualified to be just in live theatre performances. That’s how good her voice, skill, and or quality was.

Her father told her it'll improve her rosonance, sustainabikity and power. And it did. All thanks to Regine and Mang Gery (Sir Gery, her Father).
Thanks for reacting to her. Unfortunately she doesn't have the whistle register. But personally, my belief is that she has one of the best sounding belts among all female pop singers particularly her F5s that's characterized by much resonance, are very rounded and unusually thick for asians. Her belts are comparable to the likes of Jennifer Hudson and some other black singers.

This was composed by the legendary Michel Legrand who sadly passed away this January 2019. Legrand has composed more 200 television and musical themes. She performed this song with Legrand when he came to the Philippines.
