That 2014 Mustang has a better integrated instrument cluster than the 2024. The interior of the 2024 just seems like it was cobbled together without any attention to integrative thought. Definitely detracts from the higher price tags of today’s Mustang.

A Mustang from the 2000 would be more expensive to buy today than the current Mustang price and in 2010 it would be more or less the same price for less features. So you are getting about the same in both cases, modern cars just have more features and safety equipment on them.

Everyone saying they should have got the manual should remember that the GT comes with the MT82, which is known to be a poor manual transmission. Ford needs to get rid of it and only use Tremec.

    • @302Mustang13
      @302Mustang13 8 месяцев назад +5

      Three things on the MT82:
I have the MT82 in my 2013 5.0. Still even has the original fluid. Still shifts like new and I like it a lot. It's not perfect but the aftermarket has some great upgrades. In fact there is some great builds that handles 1,000 to 2,000 horsepower reliably.
There were some early issues back in mid 2010 (2011 MY), but no real issues since. The 2018 got an update with revised ratios (MT82 D4) and again, some early issues I'm aware of. It's the only manual I'm aware of from the factory that can reliably handle 800+ rwhp stock. Long term too.
People complain about manual transmissions all the time. Even Challenger and Camaro owners have their fair share of failures and complaints with Tremec.

I ordered the exact same configuration for my new mustang last month, only added night pony for bigger wheels and painted roof with different headlights and black badges. Have some discounts b/c of company I work for but not as good as a deal as you guys got. Some things about this configuration I would like people to know. (Also grabber blue not the dark blue)
301A package which is 2k gives you the partial leather (vinyl) seats with driver electric and adds lumbar as well as 9 speaker audio (adds sub and a puller speakers). Gives you the heated seats and the duel zone climate control. I originally skipped this, but changed order to include because they are all nice to haves and can’t add cheap later.
Active exhaust is worth every penny, 1.2k and bumps 480 hp to 486 hp. Looked on ford performance to add afterwards is more like 3k if you could even get the screen to show the buttons and features like starting in quiet mode.
10-speed auto, I drove this and it’s pretty good. Marginally better mpg. But really just works for my commute better, would love the stick just can’t justify it as my only car that the girl drives when needed.
As for the brakes, the upgraded 6 piston brembos are huge and I do want them. But EcoBoost to GT gives you an upgrade of brakes (the baby brembos) as well as wider tires.
I think this configuration is a great build on top of configuration, excited to see what y’all do!

The first is the lack of a third pedal. I get resale but the trade off between the difference in price and the daily joy of changing gears just wouldn’t get me into an auto. Considering the fact that a used Dark Horse (or optioned out Premium Performance Pack) will still be over $42K three years from now when they’re on the used market with 50k miles, many of us will be shopping for these base models. I’m very interested to hear your thoughts on what higher trim features you might miss as you rack up the miles on this one (and HOPEFULLY slap on a few performance mods).

The Auto Stop Start on my Maverick never works in winter and only works in summer if the A/C is running. The battery always reads around 11.9-12.4v in the winter, but 14.3 in the summer with the A/C running. Dealer gave me a run around and said I should be running A/C in the winter. WTF

That trick also works really well with motorcycles. Buy a motorcycle from somewhere way up north in the winter and ride it back south if you're mad or have it sent to you.
And enthusiasts don't care if something is faster. They want better. Just ask your significant other if they would prefer you were faster or better and you'll have the answer to why you should choose a manual.

Mustang GT V-8 cars are less popular as fuel prices go way up. 42K isn't bad for a almost 500hp sports car. Speaking of basic I bought a 86 Mustang LX 5.0 5-speed with only power windows, sunroof and rear defogger radio delete. It was $11,000 msrp. Way slower of course, but was a mid 14 second car in the mid 80's. Air would have been nice, but for 14 years and 160K miles was a blast!!

Great car, and I'm amazed at the price. Im not sure I buy the argument given Roman by the dealership, and I think TFL is smart enough to realize that dealers know about winter in Colorado. Now, people working at car dealerships aren't the top brass, and I get that. But the likely real reason this car was so cheap was perhaps extra inventory they weren't expecting, or maybe it was the last day of the month. Either way, I'm glad they got a good deal, and I'm really glad there's still a great car out there I might actually be able to afford. With that said, I just looked at Lakewood Fordland, the cheapest GT they have is $49k, $47k after current discounts.
