Nah, Nigerian market is very peculiar. Other countries are enjoying amapiano but our market get as e b. The nigerian market is somber now, Hit songs will spring up soon. Artists are just watching each other to drop. Things will pick up.

1. Burna Boy said he is not doing Afrobeat. And he is packing arenas around the world. So, many people are doing the 'FUSION' thing, to, maybe, get the same result as Burna Boy 2. I saw a recent Nigerian 10 list on a Nigerian website, and decided to check out the tracks. Only 2 tracks were Afrobeat, Showa by Kizz Daniel and a track by Phyno. The rest of the tracks were a boring fusion of Trap music, Hip-Hop, Rap, Dancehall, etc. Our guys and gurls think the world would accept nonsensical fusion from us the way Afrobeat was embraced. 3. Nigeria made Amapiano popular by fusing it with Afrobeat. Now, South Africa has run with it, and even won the Grammy with a fusion of Afrobeat and Amapiano. I used to ask why our guys were not using talking drum and juju music percussion ensemble, instead of log drum? Now, we have made South African music great. However, I think Shayo is a hit. Why is it not trending hotly?
Lack of creativity and originality is what is killing Nigerian music industry. Everythong seems copy and paste. Everyone wants to have a hit rather than creating good music.
Afrobeats died 2 to 3yrs ago. Nigerian artists were just riding on the success of Amapiano but it seems they lost the trek of where Amapiano was heading to and South African artists are moving ahead with it.
So it depends on what “afrobeat” means to you cuz you also have to realize that afrobeat is dynamic and that was why it thrives when it was fused with amapiano. It’s your ears

This will be the 1st time that Nigeria will face the death of their most popular ganre. It's up to new young ones to come up with new sound. It won't happen with the current artists.
