You know a lot about *HOTDUPS* luxury accessories and clothing. You obviously did your due diligence and the comparison with the US is very rich... of course, because I live in New York. Thank you very much.
OMG, you sound just like me. I used to buy all LV, YSL, Row, Chloe, etc. I decided it seemed like a waste of money so am selling those bags. I also work in a large city where people are now being robbed at gun point for their watch, handbags etc. so I also felt why make myself an easy target. I too recently rediscovered Dooney & Bourke and love the classic styles, and quality leather. I love my Dooney’s and really enjoy carrying them and I realized that is what is important. I also own 3 different colors of the Coach Bandit and while a beautiful bag, I also feel it is too small. Thank you for sharing as it was nice to hear someone else felt the same way I did and was making those same changes to their collection!!
❤🎉🎉🎉Julie, you are a JOY! ❤Thank you for your honesty and true love for bags. You are like the OG bag persons who just bought what they loved and were so happy showing them lovimg them etc.😊My friends have unsubscribed to many youtubers now and agree with you it is very annoying when some of these bag youtubers buy bags for views and return them right away or sell them a month later over and over again😕. Ugh, we are really seeing which bag youtubers are genuine about bags and who are not😢 THANK you for being YOU!❤ can't wait to see your vintage Coach finds they were the best😊
I was just thinking about many of the points you brought up as our area just faced the worst devastation ever. All I’ve been wearing is my Uniqlo belt bag because I needed my bag to function in a very carefree and low key way for a good week now. And it reminded me that I just want to have what I’ll actually use for my lifestyle. As things get back to normal, I know I’ll get back to using some others, but I realize I need to stop buying bags for my fantasy self too. Thank you for sharing so many insightful points. I’d love to share my thoughts on this on my channel soon.
I agree with your last point ! I’ve felt pressure to buy hyped things I didn’t actually want or had use for like the Times Square tabby and the maple quilted tabby I originally was waiting for. But I really don’t like square bags, & I don’t need any work bag like the empire at this stage of life etc so luckily I didn’t give in
Hi! I do the same exact thing. I choose the bag based on weather then pick clothing to match lol. If you haven’t noticed, I also buy bags to match a charm lol. I hear exactly what you’re saying. My husband does not like that I carry these bags around. He’s a retired NYC detective and knows that it makes us targets. ☹️Great video. TFS❤
My client is a retired NYPD from a few years ago, it would be crazy if they knew each other however I’m sure the force is HUGE. Hes doing a great job of protecting you Cami ❤️
Great topic. Our styles and ideas are so very parallel. Love satchels since forever, love Dooney and never follow hype or trend. I buy for me and happy to share my loves. Hi end luxury is a no for me. I am too snobbish I want all the bags and not just stuck with one that I will probably ignore in a few months, just because regardless of $ paid., lol. Dooney will be 50 next year, and we Dooney lovers can't wait to see what Dooney will put out for their 50th birthday. 🦋🤗
Keep those Bandits! They’re such a classic design and I feel like the amount you’ll get for them isn’t worth the potential regret if they swing back into your style. 100% agree on the hype thing. I clearly don’t need to buy an Empire since eeeeeverybody else already has one. That’s why I’ve been into the preloved bags too. A bit more individualized/personality than whatever’s viral at the moment.
I was about to say, look back into old Coach. I have a few bags that I love. Like my Zoe shoulder hobo bag. My old school soho bag. My Coach tweed bag. Also my favorite line is the dreamer line from Coach. Yeah I’d say definitely look at older bags from Coach again. ❤ but I agree with the borough bowler bag. It’s an amazing bag. The size, the handles and the crossbody are so good.
I love your lime Coach bag! It's a good thing you defined what medium is for you because that's my 'large' bag 😉😘 I don't think it's strange at all to build an outfit around a bag color. I do it all the time. Thanks for sharing!
I can relate to this. I am 60 and throughout my years of buying handbags, contemporary, and luxury, I've realized that a medium-sized handbag works best for me. I do have several crossbody bags that I will use when we go to Magic Kingdom, vacations, etc. For my medium size bags, I don't carry my kitchen sink but I do want enough room to carry my catch-all pouch, hand sanitizer, inhaler, phone, keys, phone charger. And as the years went by, my needs and perspectives have changed. And like you said, I see a lot of people carrying "luxury" bags everywhere. I would rather have that money in my checking account spent on a vacation with my children and grandchildren than spend it on a luxury bag. Thanks for sharing, awesome video.
For someone like me who doesn't care much about bags but likes new styles, I think *HOTDUPS* is the best. And I always buy the best version, even when I compare it with my friend's genuine version, I can't tell the difference.
I have recently started purchasing bags on the preloved market. It’s debatable whether I’ve saved money (bags are cheaper but I bought more of them) but I’ve definitely found a few great bags for the price of one new Coach or Marc Jacobs bag. It also feels like more of a treasure hunt. It’s tempting to sell off bags that don’t feel like our style but that could be our style in a couple months again. I think you would miss your Bandits!
I love this topic! Im a satchel lady. I like classic and structured. I ordered the Rouge, returned it. It was heavy and bulky. I bought the Coach Broome bag that I'm in love with. Very classic, not a trendy bag! I like that it's crossbody. I also bought 2 Coach. Reloved Cashincarry totes. Again, it's a satchel and crossbody ❤
I completely agree. It’s all about knowing the bags we love and making most use often. I usually spend months deciding if I should get a new one, making sure it’s practical for my needs. Like you, I keep my collection minimal, avoiding hyped bags until I can check them out in stores. My Bandits are my go-to for when I don’t need to carry too much, and I love them for their leather and quality. For heavier loads, I stick to my Longchamp because it’s easier on my shoulder. It’s great that we’re focusing on what’s functional rather than following trends! Loved your video! ❤
Julie, I loved this video and it really made me reflect on my own handbag journey. I totally relate to your point about stepping away from high-end luxury brands and embracing more contemporary options-it's such a freeing shift! I also find myself drawn to more classic, timeless pieces rather than chasing the latest trends. Your insight on not giving into the hype is so true; it can be exhausting and not always worth it. Thank you for sharing your personal realizations-they definitely made me think about how I approach my own collection!
Thank you Naomi, and I need to apologize to you. I received your bag you thoughtfully sent, I’ll review her and also I want to show the other bags I have of yours ❤
Julie, I really love the concept of this video. You are introspective and analytical… and have come to a point in your life where you REALLY know just what you want. I’m thinking that the next stage in your handbag journey may be downsizing further and keeping only the bags that meet your personal standards of perfection. You probably won’t want to “muddy the waters” with bags that only meet some of your criteria. I’m just starting that stage, and have decluttered big time. I’ve decluttered before, of course, but never with such a focused intent. I think this time it’s different because my wardrobe is now PARTIALLY FULL of perfect bags - not FULL of bags I purchased by compromising or not fully understanding my wants and needs. There is a finality to my collection this time. I’m not going back. You’re younger, but I think you’re there, too. 😊
Hey there and thanks for watching and commenting! At this point I love the size of my collection. But if I want another bag I really want to do a one in one out at this point. I’m a lover of bags and think 40 bags or a tad more is just fine!
I appreciate your honesty Julie, i couldn't agree more with everything that you said and I'm sure most people can totally relate with you including me. 😊 this is a really nice content, I have a few realisations as well haha. 😅 I think our style changes overtime, and as of now, I'm hooked with hobo style bags, apart from that, I love top handle or satchel bags too. ❤ stay safe Julie and enjoy the weekend! 🥰
Hobos look so beautiful on you as you are a stunning woman! Your Cary shoulder bag and soft tabby hobo videos inspired me to get those. But I did end up selling those for satchels. The satchel is my ultimate fave!
I’m with you on purchasing less luxury bags. I purchased my last LV bag in 2020 and then went down the Coach rabbit hole 😅 Thank you for sharing Julie!
This is a great topic. Love your video. I struggle with letting go of bags that don’t really work for me, just because they are beautiful. It’s okay, I can work around that. 😂 I base my outfit around my bag too. Priorities. 😉 TFS 🥰🌻🍁☀️
I agree with so many of your points, Julie. I am definitely a medium to large bag girl and I realized I can't fit smaller than a tabby 26 in capacity. I have a few of those left but I won't buy anymore and sold all my tabby 20s. I am also learning not to lean into the hype anymore. I am around 45 bags so I am growing more content with what I have because everything on my wishlist is similar to what I already have.
I'm a New Subbie! I'm so sorry bc I watch your channel and I thought I was subscribed. Coach is my 1st love and they are killing it. I was hyped to purchase luxury handbags and now I have found myself purchasing less handbags and going the contemporary route.
This is such a great video shared this gals guide, the hand bag heel creator. This video really got me looking harder at my collection.. larger unstructured hobo bags are not for me, & bags with dividers is a no! Except for my empire 26, i dont love larger bags that look like luggage . 😊
Medium bags for the win! Is it that fashion is about extremes? Is that why they keep giving us these teeny weenie and super jumbo bags? I agree with what you said about Rogue Top Handle, and about the hype bags. I bought the Tote Bag because of hype, but turned out to really like it. But bought the Coach quilted Tabby 26 and really shouldn’t have. It’s beautiful but too small and compartmented for me, and too fancy for daily use. Still has its tags on.
You may not use your Bandits much now but if they last - and hope they do for years. I have 3 myself - the quality is amazing, you may find they come back into regular use. My kids are full grown now though and when mine were younger I needed bigger bags too. Now I prefer smaller bags and these are perfect. They only get heavy otherwise! 🙂
Hi Julie! Great topic! I don't like brown or monogram, so I have never been attracted to LV. they do have some beautiful leather , color bags, but way out of my price range. I love Coach, and I love color and embellishments. I still prefer a deal, but occasionally, I will pay full price. I have other things I enjoy in my life, like travel, and I want to be able to enjoy both. I generally don't fall into hype, I guess, because I now know what works for me and what I love. I will say Coach is killing it lately . Everyone loves the Empire, which is way too big for me. My biggest bag would be rogue 25. In my area, I rarely see any designer bags. We have mostly outlets near us (40 min away) so I see outlet Coach and MK mostly. The fun part of collecting is learning your "style". I just hate selling, and I try to stay around 25-30, so sadly, I do have to sell.
I love your honesty and I agree with you. I have recently discovered MZ Wallace and Hammitt. They are so soft and lightweight. Of course I still love Coach and Longchamp. But I’ve had trouble using my very small bags. They are so cute but you can’t put much in them. I just have fun buying nice bags on sale too.
Hi Julie thank you for another fantastic video, I really enjoyed this one. I agree with alot of your points. I prefer a medium size bag too for everyday, a mini bag is ok occasionally. I like to add some coloured bags as well as i normally wear black or dark colours. I do not own any high end brands. I adore satchels aswell, they are my absolute favourite style. I totally hear you re not being into the hype, tfs❤❤
I loved the video and I too am a satchel person due to my height and the silouhette are ladylike. I am at the place you are at now when it comes to jumoing on trends. I shop my collection and I see some of the styles I already have, Especially with Dooney Florentine compared to the Empire Coach and my Coach double Swagger from 7 years ago
Great topic Julie! I’ve realized a lot of the hype bags are not for me! I like to do my own picking and I also hate returning a bag! Girl we all have a few videos of bags we bought for a video and regretted! I’ll admit to it. Nowadays I don’t have the funds to blow like I did so no more hype bags for me unless I got the 💰!Tfs Julie ❤️
Same. Speedy 25 to 35 is perfect…if my 35 is left saggy and not over packed. I adore one large open inside. Had the roque back in 2016 or so…hated it 😊
I quite often dress around the bag, too. Mostly, I would see which bag hasn’t been used for awhile. The exception is if I have to actually dress for an occasion then the outfit will come first. Oh… that new D&B satchel (I haven’t watched your unboxing yet, but will right after this)….got me heading to their website to look, even as you were speaking 😍. Ok, going to that video now
Julie luv this video❤!! Really makes us take a pause and think before we pull the trigger!! I did my research and bought a fabulous Dooney and luv it!! I haven’t purchased a Dooney since 1996 and so glad I did. I will probably see what I use most often and start to sell some of my collection. BTW I luv my vintage Coach Collection!! Let me know if you’re in the market for anything in particular.
Great video I also realize I perfer small carry all and small totes like my marc jacobs and my coach navy field tote. I bought my empire 26 instead of the 40 because I like the style and didn't want a huge bag. But I wanted the green bowler like you had. I waited too long and couldn't get the color. But the quilted tabby is a flap bag is, not my style, plus everyone has those 😊 plus I can't stand unnecessary dividers or magnetic only closures.
@@daisyc.7064 hey! I have 22 Coach bags at the moment, quilted tabby’s, pillow Madison’s, bandits, as well as other randoms! Yes if I’m not using the bag at all and don’t like it anymore they get sold off! TFW ❤️❤️❤️
I always like crossbody bags, preferably with a separate compartment or back pocket easy access for my phone. Don't like bags which are too wide as they just out when worn crossbody.
Aww thank you Julie 🥹 I’ve never been fond of my own voice but I think that’s most people lol that’s the best compliment everrr

I appreciate you watching Andrea!
Same. Speedy 25 to 35 is perfect…if my 35 is left saggy and not over packed. I adore one large open inside. Had the roque back in 2016 or so…hated it 😊
Oh for sure. The compartments are super annoying! Love an open pit like what you said and the sag is divine!
I love your collection. Everything in moderation 😊
Yes! Thank you!
Ok, going to that video now
❤TFS!😊
@@JanePrice-m8z thank you!
Thank you Linda!
It’s neat that you really have evaluated your collection in what you love most! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Great video. Do you have a small burgundy bag you want to sell?
Good Morning! At this time I don't. I just have my wine pillow madison and she is staying
Which Coach bags do you have in your collection? Do you sell the ones you don't like anymore?
@@daisyc.7064 hey! I have 22 Coach bags at the moment, quilted tabby’s, pillow Madison’s, bandits, as well as other randoms! Yes if I’m not using the bag at all and don’t like it anymore they get sold off! TFW ❤️❤️❤️
I always like crossbody bags, preferably with a separate compartment or back pocket easy access for my phone. Don't like bags which are too wide as they just out when worn crossbody.
My deal breaker is whether the bag is going to stay on my shoulder or not.
So true! Thanks for watching ❤️
I do not if my blue briefcase I used blue blue that bags we all do what best for us just like coach empire 40 everyone has on RUclips
It’s all over YT! Thanks for watching!
