I bought a Blue Star range about 4 years ago. It's the worst gas range I've ever owned and the most expensive. Two of the four burner starters had to be replaced in the first month. The burners all run way to hot on the lowest setting makes simmering impossible without using a burner heat diffuser. Then there is the convection fan which vibrates when turned on and is so loud that you just turn it off. The oven is the worst. It bakes uneven and the temperature shifts. Then there is the problem with the oven igniter which failed after 3 years of moderate use. It cost $550 to replace as I used the service from the company I bought it from. The igniter cost $400 and that one stopped working after 4 months. Here's the thing, a generic igniter cost $45, it's the same thing minus some insulation on the wires. I know have to wait a month for the service to show up again, the igniter is under warranty, which will still cost me a service and labor fee. So far this oven has cost me about $600 in service an labor costs. Do Not Buy any Bluestar range. They are the worst and use cheap components and break down way too much considering how much they cost.
Right now just a 36" and 48" version are available, but we've been told they're working on 30" and 60" versions to be released soon. Sounds like 60" should be available as soon as this August!
Absolutely do not buy a Bluestar Cooking Range! If you are serious about cooking, at all, you will be disappointed. We have to rotate food when baking to prevent overcooking on one side, rotate burners for the same reason, etc. Our range is only 4 years old and it's nothing buy problems. These are not made for people that actually cook. They are cheap Viking knock-offs. Do your future self a favor and spend a little more on a real range.
@@RationalNon-conformist A range that isn't a knock off of another brand. Bluestar is a knockoff of Viking. It's the brand that is commonly used in spec homes. It looks like an expensive Viking, but it is significantly cheaper. Buy a range whose primary goal is to actually cook your food, not look expensive.

Is there a WOK attachment, the nice thing about the open burners was WOK mode. It would have been also smart to add a gas broiler
6:09, that's a very interesting burner. Never seen that before.
From a competitor (albeit in the Midwest), you’ve made a great video.
Thanks!
Will they come out with a 60 inch range featuring this new burner ?

Been waiting for this review!
I do prefer gas ovens though
Especially with true convection function
I didn't hear the size of the oven. Can you please tell me how many cubic feet the oven is?
I saw they recently released a 30" induction range. I hope they expand on the sizes and offer a 36" induction range.
Word has it that is in the works as well as a 48"
Excellent video John!
Do they offer models with heavy duty casters?

So, what’s a real range?
