Shann Hall-LochmannVanBennekom hi there! I’m so glad looms have helped so much for you. This yarn sounds like it may help as well. The sweater is called a bolero. It’s not really a sweater. @@GoodKnitKisses thanks, but that wasn't the picture I saw. It was a regular sweater with arms and was like an oatmeal color. It's called seersucker pullover. I see the pattern for it now, but was wondering if you ever made a video of doing it. Thanks for answering so promptly!
Hi friend! 😊 I’ve been doing this type of knitting for a few months, but every time I do a blanket, all of the edges curl under. Any idea why? How to fix it?
Jess Creatives hi Jess!! Yes. A knit stitch repeated over and over makes stockinette. Think stockings and how they roll or the raw edge of a cut t shirt. The stitch that fights that is the purl stitch. So you have to have a sort of even combination of Knits and purls on the front to make it lay flat. Check out the purl stitch on the video. You can make your Row alternate knit and purl and the next row lines up to creat a rib stitch. Or you can have the next row offset this which makes a seed stitch. I recommend making it 3-4 rows to fix that for the bottom and top edges. The side edges can also be fixed. You can use at least the side 3-5 stitches for that. Also you can alternate a whole row of knit and a whole row of purl and repeat this a few times to make a garter stitch. Any one of these on the borders will fight the curl and leave you with a nice border. You may not need edges with a border though if you are sewing panels together to make it a circular piece or a wider one. It’s all up to you. ☺️
Go to min 02:56 to jump straight to the loop purl stitch and check out the sample using combinations of knots and purls. You can use it for borders or an entire project. Purls can also be used to create a pattern like placing a heart in the middle of Knits too.
Lauren Studnicka you can actually work in a giant circle if you like and then you never have to seam it on the end or work your yarn back and forth. I’m including two links below. First one is how I made a cowl (basically a super small version of an infinity scarf) and the other link is a playlist of videos using this yarn. www.goodknitkisses.com/loop-yarn-seed-stitch-cowl/ ruclips.net/p/PLspNyS4jO47zEQygBqUTlgsnhRZ0lW6Vy
I make scarves for a side business....is there a way to tell how much yarn you'll need for a project? Most of the loop yarns are smaller yardage, and I usually use quite a bit for a hand-loom made scarf, upwards of 180-200yds. I'm not sure how to figure out how much I'd actually need per scarf.

Why would you need to decrease and increase with this yarn you’re just making blankets and scarves they the same size is this for a particular project that you would increase and decrease?..Also with this particular Yarn because it’s fluffy and bulky those different stitches don’t look good the cable doesn’t look good at all but that’s just my opinion thank you for the tutorial this Yarn is amazing
You would need to increase and decrease in a row to get certain stitch patterns to appear even if just a blanket. it is the same for any other pattern. Here is a tutorial using the same yarn to get a chevron or zig zag stitch pattern for a blanket. ruclips.net/video/2dVAI6X1Fyk/видео.html I agree the stitches look quite different than what you are used to due to the bulk of the yarn and also seeing the thread stitching it to get the big loops. Actually the purl stitch can look more tailored (for use in the cable) if done more like how it is done in loom knitting. However it takes more time to do it that way. the benefit is that you wouldn't see the thread connecting the loops that way but it is more time consuming so we did not teach it like that in the video. I'm glad you like the yarn. Personally i think it is a great way for people to understand how the stitches in knitting really go together. it is much easier for kids to see as well and generates more interest. Thanks for watching and all your feedback. Great questions!
Yes. You can cut open a few loops and weave in the longer tail as you would in knitting. The way taught above was as suggested by the manufacturer but I prefer without the thread. However for something you want really secure, but don't want to add any bulk, this s a great option. Great question! :-)
Jon Campos my first thought was yes on the zippy but it’s just a bit too tight. If you have an XLG 3/4” spaced peg loom it should work. Honestly I’d just use that if you are wanting something to hold the live stitches or work something stockinette for a while. The purl is easier using the technique in the video.
Kim Howell it’s the same as knitting but without the needles. When you push the loops thru the loop from the previous row you are “locking” the stitches in. You can wash it the same way you wash all knitted garments.
Hi Kim! (Thank you Kimberly!) She is right. Yes they lock in with each stitch. At the end you will use the bind off method used in the video which basically makes a chain across by looping through one stitch over another at the top and end at the yarn tail and pull through. Hope that helps!
Indigenous Chippewa I don’t understand that question your knitting you’re just not using needles it’s the same exact process of course it’s locked in that is common sense
Has anyone had trouble with the loops not being perfect? I made one “doll blanket.” It wasn’t bad. I’ve tried to start others and I haven’t had as much luck. I start once and awhile and then give up. Start again. Stop...
Sure. It might need less or more wedges though. It depends on the gauge of the loom used. I don't have a chart or anything. I just know that several people a while back made them on other looms with various peg counts and some needed 1 more wedge sometimes.
I don’t like the sewing needle thing because you can see that thread you can just weave it through really well and it will be fine just have a longer tail
You don't have to use the thread if you don't want. Just cut open a few more loops and weave the tail through. The needle and tread was by the manufacturer suggestion but i don't do that unless it is really needed for a special finishing.
