    Caroline thanks for sharing your bike ride to Padstow. It looked like a nice summer day in jolly old England. I wish I could have cycled with you both there. I love fish and chips. I really like halibut fish and chips and a cup of good clam chowder. Hope you and friend have great 2022. Stay safe and love life. Cheers☕☕🧔

      So pleased you enjoyed the video 🙏 halibut isn't a standard fish from a take-out place in the UK, but I imagine it's lovely. Most fish and chip shops in the UK offer cod or haddock as standard. We don't tend to have clam chowder either, but I spent my university summer's working on a children's summer camp in upstate New York and they loved to serve us clam chowder at lunch times, so I know what it is. I never minded it at camp, but I've ordered it at good restaurants when travelling in New England and Nova Scotia and it's looooovely 😋 Would I be right to assume you're from the US or Canada? I hope you have a lovely 2022 too!

    I had not really given a thought to the Camel Trail. When visiting Padstow I have usually headed out on the coast path. However your experience looks such fun I may well give this a go, while my knees still work. Thanks for the inspiration. Have a great New Year.

      We walked 3 or 4 sections of the coast path on our trip and found the Camel Trail to be a really nice change of scenery, as well as being a bit different being on a bike. Lots of people were walking the section between Wadebridge and Padstow if you'd prefer to do that, but the bikes were a lot of fun because of how flat it was! 🙌🚴‍♀️ Hope you have a lovely New Year too!

    Love what they've done to the old railway line, looks like a very pleasant route with all the water and pretty bridges along the way. I don't like fish so I'll have to take your word for it with the food at Rick Stein - it looks good though! Interesting that the chips didn't quite match up to the fish in taste and enjoyment. Padstow looks amazing, lovely little harbour but very, very busy! Helpful tips at the end as usual - another great video!

      Hi Matt. Strangely, Rick Steins also in few south Asian dishes such as Lamb Karahi and Samosas, but I love a good ol' fish and chips too much to pick something else. I loved the old railway line so pleased it came across well in the video too. I expect Padstow isn't as busy as my experience if you can go outside of the school summer holidays - which I expect you're probably more able to do. Thank you again for your kind words 🙏

    Thought you might try a backward cycle vlog similar to your walking backward sections on previous videos 😃

      Lol!! I found the filming of the cycling challenging as I've only done 1 cycle Vlog prior to this.... but did try to take nods from walking videos!

    With his second wife Sara he has written cookery book presented television programmes best wishes hopefully in year 2022 all of us get rid of this global pandemic soon amen because in beginning of pandemic schools and colleges on line and new decision intermediate and high schools students attend class with safety precautions even vaccines relief symptoms not prevent it good luck to you your dearest ones stay safe blessed

      That's really interesting to hear that intermediate and high school students are only now returning to classes in person. We went back in September 2020, though it was back to home learning from January to March 2021, and since March, we've been back at school full time. The rulings of what we've had to do in school have fluctuated from almost no rules - school operated like it did before the Pandemic (this happened when our government dropped almost all rules due to low COVID numbers) through to masks needing to be worn at all times and students being put into 'bubble groups'. Is there any word on when you may be able to return to face-to-face teaching?

      Hi Khatoon, I am well thank you and Christmas and New Year's have been a much needed relaxing break - though school begins in a couple of days again! You're right about the Camel Trail having originally began on the edge of Bodmin Moor, though I'm not sure if the cycle route is maintained out that far or not (I couldn't have cycled any more than what I did that day 🤣🚴‍♀️) I had no idea the name Camel meant crooked river as I did think it was a strange name given that camel's only exist in zoo's in the UK. When I was researching this activity, the Camel Trail in your home country kept popping up in search which felt more appropriately named!

      As a nation we do rather like our celebrity chef's as we're rather foodie obsessed. Rick Stein isn't as big of a celebrity in comparison to people like Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver etc. but he's definitely a household name and associated with very good food in his restaurants.

    not cheap

    • @WhenAdventureKnox
      @WhenAdventureKnox  2 года назад

      Definitely not, but I think because we'd gone to St Ives a few days prior, gone to a sit down restuarant and had some of the worst food imaginable, and the total was considerably more than this take away, we were pleased with the quality and lower price. Perspective is a funny thing as long after this day, I agree - very expensive for a takeway!
