    I would have loved to see an open jar of these potatoes. Maybe when you open a jar you could add it to the end? I would like to see how mushy or not they are. Thank you! I love your videos and have watched a ton of them. You are a blessing!

    I’ve literally just started canning at 65 years old 😮. I absolutely love your channel. Please answer a question, do all the potatoes have to have the skin taken off. Thanks in advance.

      I started canning 2 years ago at age 66. I love it! Yep, ALL potatoes must be peeled before canning. I am blessed to have a husband who will peel the potatoes for me!

    My entire family LOVES these potatoes! They request mashed potatoes made with these potatoes at holidays. I read recently that red potatoes are the best for canning so I am going to try those this year.

    Just came across your channel this morning, and subscribed. I just made a bunch of these jars a few weeks ago, and depending on the broth I use they stayed clearer than others. I wish I knew which broth had the best results lol, but I didn't keep track when I was canning them.

    What is the time for pints, please? Could you coat potatoes with melted butter and “ dry pack”

    • @foodprepguide
      @foodprepguide  Месяц назад +1

      75 minutes for pints. 🙂 People do it, but I don’t believe dry canning is safe, so I don’t.

    I've never seen a canner like that. What model is it and where can it be purchased. It would be perfect for me because we moved to a house that has an electric stove, and trying to use my old aluminum canner is a nightmare.

    If your not blanching your potatoes. Don't they get starchy and make your product pasty?.

    • @foodprepguide
      @foodprepguide  8 месяцев назад +1

      Some of the jars were pretty starchy, but I just drained & rinsed them under cold water before preparing, and they turned out fine for our tastes. It would be nice to blanch a batch and compare side by side. I may be do that sometime in the future.

      Being low acid, potatoes need to be pressure canned.
