Never heard this before but I think it's great! Music is extremely subjective so everyone will take it in differently. At the same time some artists do rely on their fans to let them know what is working and what's not so feedback is always appreciated when given constructively. I hate this ain't it. 😁
This is one artist I don't mind being more commercialized. I usually hate that but in this case I'm happy/excited to see him get some exposure because he has so much to offer, maybe it will give him a platform to do more...
This song has been stuck in my head for a couple of weeks now! Such a great song. Love his older stuff too but enjoying this new record a lot! And this video is pretty darn sweet too.

Brilliant, deep sound, upbeat, still Ray, those rhythms and voice are true, and remain. I love this and I'm excited to see, and hear, he has the balls to branch out. Thank you, Ray LaMontagne is a true inspiration to songwriters, and the public is fickle. Some people don't like Picasso, THEY JUST DONT GET IT! You either like an artist or you don't. I'm proud of him for having someone produce this new recording. Keep up the great work!

What makes this song so good is this is what it's like dating someone from your town you haven't been around in years! Sharing stories of divorce, heartbreak, kids growing up, and finally, spending it together. What a hell of a tune!
The music reflects the artist. Sounds to me like Ray is in a good place. To say it isn't "him" is completely shallow (other GREAT artists who changed their sound from time to time: David Bowie, Tim Buckley). He's an artist. He has every right to "change". It's a sign of true artistry and maturity. His voice is still perfect and the production is still on point. I don't understand why anyone would be complaining. I've been patiently waiting for ANYTHING from Ray for years. This is exciting and new. And these are singles guys. Chances are we'll hear nuances of previous albums in other tracks.

I guess everybody has an opinion. Yawn. Most negative comments are from people who have no talent and are jealous of Ray and his, hard-won, success. If you don't like his music, don't listen to it. Ray went through Hell in his life and I understand him. I especially understand him after reading puerile, trollic, and plainly idiotic reflections on the creativity of a deeply emotional man who decided to do a light pop song. So, lighten up. Ray did.
What the hell is this, ray?????????? Pop music can be great but even your fantastic voice cannot carry this tune & it's contrived lyrics.
Go on Ray you do what you want, it is your music and damn fine at that!

Just saw them live last night at Greenbelt Harvest Picnic! Amazing live performance, this song was my favourite of the set, his band singing backing vocals was dynamite.

I really enjoy the song. It seems like the old ones, but happy. haha When you hear it you can identify Ray Lamontagne there, it sounds softly and rude (in a good way) at the same time, because of his smoky voice. I just love it! Moreover, the whole album is very cool.

First heard this song in of all places.. a McDonald's playground watching my son play with the other kids. It's a great song! To me there's some Grateful Dead influence thrown in there.

I have never heard this song but I like Ray's music, so I randomly picked this album to listen to. The songs are sifting through and I begin to think of my new girlfriend Zoe who is currently thousands of miles away, so I pull up a picture of her and just as I do...this song starts. Huh.
Just got this cd I'm a huge fan of Ray. There are in my opinion 2 fillers on this 10 track collection but I'll take 8 out of 10 anyway when purchasing a cd. Ray suffered from writers block before recording his new material and I think the influences that are very obvious outside of what Ray typically would do was perfect for him at this juncture of his career. He had the pressure of a corporation wanting their new material and the pressure of having the vision for a direction he wanted the material to go. Ray has earned the right to do what he damn well needs and wants to do and this is a very interesting and entertaining cd.
Love the song and the mix. Video is like South Park minus jokes.
