Just don't let your guard down. Just say "NO" if there is someone who is offering you something shady. Go to much lighter places because there are parts where it is totally dark after all. I have walked there in Avenida at night before.
safer than more of USA cities. i walked in darkest areas at night maybe they dont bother when they noticed its someone taller than them
