We sure DO have way too much patterned paper. So SO much. I'm so happy to know that it's a thing, and I'm not a weirdo paper hoarder all by myself 😁lol Awesome card!
You are not alone. I have my 12x12 pattern paper along the top of a SIX FOOT shelf in addition to all my 6x6 or 6x8 pads someplace else and another shelf that holds all my 12x12 Anna Griffin pattern paper. I almost forgot that I have multiple Iris cases full of solid card stock in addition to 12x12 pads, mostly Martha Stewart. Halloween. Christmas. And yet when I was at Joann’s the other day, guess what I bought?
Good morning Kathy this is Joanne another idea that I used quite often is I keep a little air compressor in my crafting room that I used when I do my alcohol inking. Oh my gosh I justgloves doing my alcohol inking art so much more using the little air compressor. You might want to try it one day. The trick of it is not having too much alcohol ink piled on top of each other and using a yupo paper. The last time I did my alcohol ink I did have the wavy Dyke had the Ivana used in one of her cards and for one of the guy cuts it worked fine after that the guy didn't want to cut through the yupo paper.
Kathy this is a friend of yours Joanne from Price Utah I just wanted to give you a little ideas that I use. Pickatime either at the end of the year or the beginning of the year to check out your shops that sell flooring they usually have a lot of books with a different styles of wallpaper they sell to their customers. Generally the stores toss these older books out at the end of the year or depending on how busy they are those throw them out at the beginning of the new year after they get their new books. So what I've done in the past it really helps to cut down on pattern papers is going collect those books that the dawn longer have need for it and you'd be surprised how much of a savings you get using the throwaway paper from these books. They really can give you extra ideas on some of your card designs. Check it out one of these days you might be surprised
I have seen some people that I have used cats or dogs or like hedgehogs in their presentation for their cards very cute ideas however for me I wanted to use what I was familiar with as a child maybe it could relate to the child in all of us or him the children to bring them in as the Next Generation for our craft. So this was my idea and gold to reach the younger generation to bring them in with what we love so much. And still I have been having a great deal of fun learning to design my cards using some of the guys from my childhood cartoons
Love that bright green background! Such a fun way to utilize the oh so many cute Halloween patterned papers in ye olde stash!🤗 Thank you for another fun demo!👻💕
Ooh I do love this clever idea. I've done similar with Washi tape. The monochromatic is gorgeous and those batties remind me of yours! One of my favourite stencil and die purchases of this past year! Super cute paper and gorgeous finished shaker xoxo
If you have any other ideas other than what you put on your videos you're very good at your craft and I look forward everyday to seeing your new videos
In my family I grew up with two sisters older one sister younger. As an adult all of those have been into card-making at one time or another including my mother. My younger sister at one time had two daughters that joined her in making cards. For whatever reason the three of them have all wigged out and no longer make the cards. My eldest sister made easy cards such as tearing a piece of paper out of a magazine or something that she copies on the computer she cuts them she glues them puts a bow on them and calls it a card. That's fine for her but maybe that's because that's the allotted time that she has to put a thank-you on a card or the words of happy birthday to a loved one. However I do have one sister that gets in and she makes some of the most beautiful cards. She says she doesn't spend much time on it but she does
I love any idea that uses patterned paper. I collect it but certainly don’t use enough of it! This card is adorable! I also have an ask of you!! I would love for you to share a video of your photography process. Setup, props, lighting, camera angles, camera settings, the whole kit and kaboodle. I make beautiful cards (sometimes) then the photos fall flat! 😢. Help a girl out!!
I really love this card and every one of your pattern paper choices. I feel inspired. I do think I might have used black foam tape. It works really well when using dark paper, particularly when it has to be used so close to the edge of your project. 🎃
Cathy I have to thank you for commenting in one of your videos how the simonsaysstamp everyday scissors are great for cutting foam tape. I have been searching for the best scissors for this because everything sticks…these scissors are the BEST!!! Thank you so much for that tip!!!
Cathy, if you put more foam between the bottom edge and words, as well as words and side, you don't need as many shaker bits , or at least they don't all fall to the bottom where they can't be seen.
What a terrific shaker card! I love how you incorporated the use of patterned paper for a theme. I have to have a ton of patterned paper and card stock from my scrapbook days.
So between myself and my other sister I have had the opportunity to purchase more tools and equipment then she has. I do share my tools and equipment with my family and friends, those better interested in our craft. So the style of cards between me and my one sister we both have good ideas we both make some cute cards but the style of cards between us is so different but unique
I've only had this for a week, so it is too soon for me to tell. I really loved my Gemini Junior and who knows I may go back to it but I'm going to test this out for the next 3 to 4 months.!

Not able to join today😢. However, I can like the video!

What are your thoughts on the Empress die cut machine? Like it better than Gemini? Need an electric but not sure which is better. Thanks.
