Benzino was trying to hurt Ems career by using the Source magazine to rate his albums low. Everyone Benzino didn’t like was rated low but his own music were rated very high. 4.5 to 5 mics. The Source was the hip hop Bible then. It mattered. Until Em went at them. An insider leaked the story of how Benzino was doing Em dirty and The Source was destroyed. This beef is decades old. Research it my guy. It’s fascinating stuff. Ray Benzino forced and extorted his way into Dave Mays magazine.

The Source is a magazine that Benzino co-owned and was like the hip hop bible for MCs and that magazine used to give out “mic’s” for album reviews - 5mics is the best you can get. Benzino always rated Eminem’s albums 3mics or less. And then rate his own album like 5mics. Taking food out of Eminem’s mouth and trying to hurt his reputation
Oh this beef goes way back. It's worth looking into and getting the whole story. Just keep in mind though. This was just the Jab. Invasion pt1 -pt3., The Sauce, Nail in the Coffin, Go to Sleep. It was around this time Ja Rule jumped in and thought it was a good idea to attack. All these mix tapes were ridiculous. Em and company took down an entire magazine, ended Ja's career, and pretty much ended the entire label of Murder Inc. They were never the same and never recovered.
