Dont blame it on mum, everything you do in life is your fault. But play life like chess, you cant change it, you cant just wish it would have not happen , you just have to make it work. Even from worst position possible. Good luck on your journey!
I think you should check on the website or call with financial aid or wherever you got the loans from. You might be paying on the loan interest then the actual principle
Similar thing happened to me smh… Look into consolidation with a low fixed interest rate. Some loans have a variable interest rate and the principal seems to never go down.
I only have 12k in debt and I keep telling people I’m paying it off before I graduate and people keep saying every semester “take out more loans” or “you can just pay it after”. I’m very grateful for it just being 12k but I’m tired of debt being normalized and the crazy part is the people that keep telling me these things I’ve literally watched debt burden their lives constantly. It’s like a norm for them and I don’t want that. I’m stubborn so I’m going to do things my own way. No longer taking out loans.
It's tough, man, I get it. I graduated with a degree in mathematics and currently make 65k a year while owing 92k for my degree. I moved back home and paid an average of 1200 a month with a new goal of pushing it to 1500 a month. I treat my student loans like rent is due and before the due date. I paid off two loans so far, and now at 79k left. My goal is to keep hitting the sweet spot of 1483 over the next three years while at home so I can be debt free before 2029. Keep your head up, ignore those people that say Don't bother paying it back because, when them checks start to be garnish left and right by the government, then they'll be crying a river.

In lucky I got financial aid but it was my choice to go to community college then transferred to a cal state. I saved a lot of money and never took out loans. I lived at home and commuted over an hour to school.
@@citlallimtnz2729 mannnn I also wanted to do the community college thingy, especially since it was cheaper, but it just didn’t fall through. Same with me, I had to switch to online classes cuz my actual campus is like 40-60mins away 🤦🏾♂️
A lot of majors are stuggling with demand right now outside of STEM, it’s because of different things either it’s highly competitive, job applications are now being reviewed by AI which honestly puts people at a disadvantage, but college within itself it was initially intended for the rich not the everyday laborers and because the demand has increased it has influenced the price in a ridiculous manner. The main problem I see with colleges is the credit system. To this day nobody can answer this question for me. If I’m an accounting major why did I HAVE to take an art history course? The deans just say “credits”. A lot of degrees also don’t require 4 years it only takes 4 years because of the dumb credit system. Realistically my accounting degree would take 2 years at most if it wasn’t for the nonsense classes I had to take that had nothing to do with my major but still obligated to pay for. So in that aspect many people could review it as a mistake.
There are hundreds/thousands of pieces of information that state if you’re going into debt, it has to be for a high paying industry. If you can’t afford to pay out of pocket, it’s your fault that you made this choice. You better get HIGH paying in demand skills. You had 4 years to do so.
Well realistically, that could be paid off in a year. One good year as an entrepreneur is crucial. Debt would scare me if I wasn’t doing what I’m doing tbh
What? Did you get a degree in film?? For a 100k... Thats terrible. Currently i know ill have to be paying back student loans in the future maybe 40k at most but im doing chemical engineering so ill be making it back. These type of degrees in the arts arent valuable. There is a part of me that wants to drop out but im already in too deep.
You’re cooked bro, if your parents aren’t gonna pay for your education then go to the cheapest college you can find. I went to a community college and flunked out but at least I didn’t waste any money.

Going to college was not the mistake, it was choosing film school and running up $100K in debt to that end.
