      Well people do treat me like if I was just hooping all day like a pixie in fairy land and these videos just miraculously appear 🤣 but in reality I spend all week sitting like most people rotting away in front of a screen... the amount of content I created for my website is HUGE and I did it all alone, still doing it daily!!! 💪 I'm not complaining though❗️❗️❗️
      It was a bit like hooping. At the start I had no clue what I was doing and it was terribly hard 🤯 Wasn't as sweaty to edit videos as hooping was but it was extremely challenging. Still, never gave up and learnt so much and still learning! I learnt to love the process so much: every day I learn and try new things even when it is about sedentary work but also with hooping. Somehow it feels like the older I'm getting the more I value physical and mental stimulation because I celebrate that I'm not getting worse and stupid and unfit as the years go by... but the opposite. When I was younger I didn't care or didn't feel so important. But now Somehow this is what brings me joy. That I'm not just declining as the days go by. Silly really. I hope you're excited and joyful, celebrating every day and noticing progress and improvements 💋💋💋 keep claiming your daily pixie dust, stimulation and joyful discoveries ✨️💐💋

    This is the information that I was searching for when I was trying to figure out which hoop to order ! Everywhere I looked, the weighted hula hoops were accessible and affordable, but the benefits seemed to apply to general fitness. I felt like there wasn't a lot of information specific to choosing a hula hoop and whether or not a weighted hula hoop is a good option. Back then, it was more challenging to figure out how to order a dance hula hoop. Thankfully, I finally found your "Hoop Buying Guide" and that was super helpful. It was a completely different and better experience once my dance hoop arrived! Thank you for talking about the different kinds of hoops and the way that they can affect us .

      thank you so much for the inspiration!!! I remember the time when I had no clue about hoops... still remember the day my first dance hoop arrived. It was a massive naked hoop and I had so much fun with it. First time in my life I felt good in my own body and had fun being active. I so wish I had the chance trying hooping with a proper hoop when I was a teenager. Back then I felt like a failure because I couldn't run as fast or jump as high or throw a ball as well as the others... during sports activities and PE lessons we were constantly measured and compared to each other... I always came last in almost everything 🤣 that made me dislike exercise for many many years and I thought it was me... when it turned out that I actually like exercise if I am given a hoop and don't have to punch or chase anyone for a ball on a field 🤣
      You and I, we are so lucky, the Universe loves us so much, we bumped into hooping and we are having fun and learning so much 💗 lots of love 💋

    Really informative, Bee 🙂 My mum got curious about hooping last year when she saw how fit I was getting from it. We had an old hoop lying around. It was one of those monster weighted hoops that were hard plastic and rough grooves on the inside. There was no foam protection and it was very heavy. I used it a few times over the pandemic and it absolutely killed. My mum, who has back problems amongst other things, wanted to give it a try. I handed my her one of my MDPE dance hoops and told her to use that instead. I think that hoop could have injured her. There's not a lot of people warning about those kinds of weighted hoops. This video was necessary so that people can make an informed decision on what they want and the possible risks.
    On a lighter note, I love all the little shots of your area. It looks so beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ You and Minka always look like you're having a great time and embrace a playful world 🙂 Love it. Hope you're looking forward to Spring 🌷🌷🌷

      Thank you, Gorgeous Xandra 💋 you always have such kind, lovely words ❤️ means a lot!
      It is spring school holiday for Minka but it's still snow everywhere... we are out and about though on adventures and exploring the wilderness. I squeeze in some hooping here and there and of course I keep creating the videos, too.
      You're right about the weighted hoops... I was asked before by a leading fitness blog to write about the weighted hoops... they requested a whole full blown interview and I made time and did it for them. At the end they kept praising the weighted hoop, completely cut and trimmed out what I was saying and it ended up looking like some giant weighted hoop advert. These hoops are everywhere and I cannot blame people who buy them because if you're not in fitness and wellness or hooping: how would you know... it's like me and the cake decoration business or airbrushing... I would have no clue what I need to get to get started... so of course I would buy what comes up in search first and what everyone is praising...
      Because the dance hoops are not mass manufactured in China but usually hand-made they don't get such a budget for marketing... so people can't find them that easily and don't know about them... it takes a lot of research to find a good hoop. I hope though that more videos and articles and posts will raise awareness and people soon choose less destructive hoops when they start hooping.
      Of course for a strong fit male the big monster hoops are a little tickle... but for someone who hasn't been working out... had kids... little bit unfit... these bruisers are super not a great kit to start with.
      It's just sad when someone has made the decision that she will start claiming time for herself, she gets a hoop, diligently squeezes time in for her workouts into her busy schedule... and then gets injured and can't workout afterwards... well done for being there for your mum and helping her have a good experience 👏 keep inspiring others and looking out for them ✨️💖 you're awesome 🏆🙏👌

      You can do it! All hoops are good for something though. Always keep all your hoops because if you decide to learn moves, they will come handy! Some hoops make certain moves easier or harder. We all eventually learn to do all our moves with 1 kind of hoop BUT initially when a move is super new and feels difficult: it helps to be able to reach out for something heavy or super light. I do not use my weighted hoop for myself. I only have 1 weighted one and that I bought for RUclips videos only but if there are visitors coming to us, anyone who has never hooped before but wants to try: the big one helps them figure out the move. In just a few minutes the big heavy one assists the learning process by helping someone believe they can do it. After that: they can try all kinds and giggle and play and feel victorious. I hope you will have lots of victory filled and giggly days, packed with joy, wellness & delight. Enjoy your shiny new hula hoop chapter! Life will just keep getting better and more fun every day from now 💗💋

She was producing them so l bought from her but it was expensive. As l progressed l needed more but didnt want to spend that much so l learned to make HDPE hoops and l started to make them myself. lt is crazy yes how the weighted ones are everywhere and when people think they are better and l tell then they are not ( l learned it from one of your previous videos) l am not sure if they really eblieve it!

      Great, Andreas. It also shows perfectly that we all have different goals. Also, we all start off with different levels of fitness and even coordination. Most of the time the messages I receive are from ladies obsessing about the circumference of their waist & they are frustrated terribly because they keep showing up and putting in the hours for a long time even if they are in agony and they think there's no hope for them. When there is hope... it's just that they need to change what they are doing. Enjoy your deluxe hoop, sounds very posh, like a cheeseboard that I would love to devour 🤣 sounds irresistible 😉 lots of love to you and happy hooping 💋💋💋

      just replied to your other comment on my other video - I paste it here just in case you missed it:
      Hello Mildred, I saw your other comment, too and I think it is ok to start with a 2lb hoop and it will help you get started. Maybe the lighter one will be frustrating at first go. BUT I think you will end up with 2-3 hoops anyways eventually... because we all start with something bigger and slightly heavier first: so that we can keep it up at all and figure out what to do. If we are larger or less fit or less coordinated we need the bigger one. BUT once you get started you will find that first your coordination will improve like crazy! Then your fitness increases... and you will change dress sizes... and you soon will need a smaller hoop anyway. So to start, maybe try something nearer 2lbs based on the details you gave me but be prepared that you get so fit and small & skilled that you probably need another hoop soon, a smaller lighter one like a 1lb hoop. When that happens I think you won't mind starting a whole collection of hoops because you will be flying high with all your epic achievements and confidence boost and excitement! It is addictive because it is so much fun and so playful and so creative! Happy hooping, gorgeous Mildred 💋

    Hello Bee, just watched several of your videos about weighted hula hoops and in all of them you speak only to a female audience. I understand that you are sharing your experience and want to highlight some important things that are important for females, but as a male, I would like to know your professional opinion on using weighted hula hoops for a whole-body workout to build muscles.

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  Год назад +1

      Hello Gorgeous 💋 I've been teaching hooping for many years and only had 1 male customer! So I apologise about always talking to ladies 🤣 a habit I developed because I never seem to talk to men ever 🤣 even my child is a girl 🤣 and I only have sisters 🤣 men do not seem to exist in my life, THANK YOU FOR SHOWING UP 💗
      It is also very rare for men to be interested in hooping. Usually they do not think it is hard enough or if it can build muscle. But it absolutely can.
      I would not go for a hoop heavier than 1kg though even if I was a male. So not sure what weight you're considering but the too heavy ones are not suitable for most moves - only around the waist... ( If I was a fella, I would use probably something like a 800gr hoop... ) I think if you can keep a hoop up or you can do any hoop move/trick the key is the sets and reps and rests. Same way as one would do hypertrophy sets and protocols in a gym with weights, one can use those very same principles with a hoop for gaining lean muscle mass. That is how I train every day, too and that is the type of training I offer on my website in my Studio membership. My youtube audience is not that involved so I only have very basic beginner content on RUclips because whenever I tried to get more specific or advanced, that ruined my retention. Here people just want easy beginner basics. That is why I put the proper workouts on my website. Those who are interested, they get shredded there.
      But super no need to go to my website because as I mentioned above: use general hypertrophy sets and reps & rests - tap into all the strength & conditioning protocols that are for mass. Stimulate both fast and slow twitch muscle fibres. Keep increasing volume. as you get fitter and always ALWAYS aim for progressive overload. Because: IF NOTHING CHANGES, NOTHING CHANGES...
      On top of that I would always aim for moves which increase range of motion - when we elongate a muscle and work it at its full range it works harder, it helps the joints stay healthier and results in beautiful muscles all round. Hooping I think for this reason is even better than weights. With weights often we train just one angle and we keep shrinking it and reduce range of motion... get stiffer and mess up the balance between muscles that cuddle joints. With hooping we work on a better range of motion and with huge variety and it helps to achieve better balance. Not just overtrain and over-volume 1 muscle at 1 angle... but as many angles as we can possibly move that joint.
      I only do hooping at home, that is all. I've not lifted any weights for the last 8 years... and I have more muscle now than when I used to go to the gym... and I am 40... the older we are the harder it is to maintain muscle. Supposed to be... but I personally find that I am now gaining more muscle than ever before. Not 100% sure but I think it is also because I am not overtraining. I think a decade ago, before I had my daughter I had more time to train and I did... but now I only do 45 minutes a day, 6 days a week. That is all. And I have more muscle now. I eat the same like I used to. So I am not sure but I think overtraining killed my gains - of course I have no clue how much you train but just putting it here in case you wanted to try to only do maybe 40-60 minutes max for a few months... and compare it with different durations, see how your body responds. For me the 45min feels sweet, can fit it around kid and work... and it gets me sweaty and happy. And I have never had this much lean mass. Most women don't care but I do because muscle helps with metabolism, bone density, capillary health, heart, blood glucose levels... improves quality of life! So muscle is better than medicine I think 💗
      You've got all it takes! You can do it! Hoops can get you muscles! 💪💋 lots of love 💗

      @@BeeVargaTheHulahooper thank you for such a wide, detailed answer. Honestly, I always loved hula, and every place I lived I bought hula and add it to my workout routine. Recently I decided to search for the actual benefits of it and one glance at you is already answered all my questions about how good hula is. So now I feel motivated more than ever before to use it and learn new ways to train with it. Unfortunately, I could only find weighted hula where I am right now because I enjoyed metallic a little more and I think it is more diverse. Speaking of the duration of the workout, I had awesome results when I did one hour of interval training, so I'll stick to that time for now. And if anyone is gorgeous here it is definitely you Bee!

      @xxxVASYOKxxx Hoppá! Exactly, the material matters, too!!! Metallic or wooden are so much better because they are firmer and apply a decent pressure on the muscles whereas the weighted ones are usually absorbing this pressure because of the spongy covering! So well done for pointing that out! I use wooden for this reason but if I didn't have wooden, I would also choose Metallic. If there's no Metallic then of course use what you can get where you are 💖💖💖

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, a heavy hoop is easier to keep up.
      That is why completbeginnerser need these. Because even if your fitness and coordination are not great: this heavy hoop will be little effort to spin. BUT it is excellent for confidence! So it is never a waste of money!!! It gets us started even if initially we don't believe we can keep a hoop up or get fitter: this hoop is like a comforting cookie, a cuddle from our mum. Easy and doable. 🍪
      Once we know we have what it takes to spin a hoop: we need to work a bit harder.
      ✋️
      You do not have to take my words for it! Try! If you have a smart watch, any kind of heart rate monitor: try the same duration and intensity workout with a very heavy and then a lighter one... and see it for yourself. The lighter hoop will be more effort, it gets your heart pumping, all your muscles will be contracted working hard trying to get you through your workout. The heavy hoop will let you chill and relax and comfortably complete your workout. But comfort is a bit of a waste.
      Of course it depends on goals! Some people are satisfied with putting a check mark in their app on their phone - mark it off ✅️ tried it, done a workout today...
      But some people don't like to waste time. I definitely don't have time to waste. If I make time to exercise, I want more than a check mark ✅️ I want to feel and look different 💪 it costs sweat and effort to achieve change. Some people love working hard, they will transform their physiques. This is all the difference between people who workout regularly & stay the same and the people who also workout regularly and they keep looking better.
      The moment a workout feels comfy and easy: it is only enough to maintain what we have. If it gets our heart rate increase, makes us sweaty & knackered: it has the power to take us straight to our dream physique 💖🏆👌

    When i was a teenager i had an light hula hoop. And i can remember i could hooping for more than one hour without any problem. Then i grow up, and i bought a weithed hula hoop, and i barely can hooping for an half hour :( i think that it is because i need more efforts to get spin it. (I don't think can be a age problem. I was used to use it a lot, and even though i didn't use it for few years i am pretty sure that if i change with a light one i can spin as once) what can be your opinion? Thank you :) ah! You will experience it for yourself what the difference is, how different they feel and in my opinion: the lighter is more effort and it is faster and we need to push harder to keep it up. But your experience may be different.

    Hi Bee. Why can't I get the hang of my Walmart Hula? Should I buy a weighted one to start?

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  5 месяцев назад

      Hiya, I wish I knew what a Walmart hula is like, never seen before but I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it soon, you just need to then try something heavier and bigger. That always helps. You may not need the heavier for too long! So once your body figures out what it takes a heavier and bigger one going, then it will feel super doable to keep a lighter and smaller one going, too! If there’s anyone around who has a weighted one, maybe you could borrow it. Or check out your local gym if you have one, you could try theirs. A weighted one is not what I recommend using every day for a long time… but to start off, when it feels a little hopeless: a weighted hoop comes to the rescue - a bit like training wheels when you’re a kid learning to ride a bike… you may need it at the start, but afterwards it will be easy and a giggle even without training wheels… I am sure you’ll be amazing at it, I have no doubt! I wish you lived round the corner! I would put all my hoops on you and let you try them all ❤️
      You’ve got this! Keep trying 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🫶🏼 lots of love from Latvia 💋💋💋

Not like if I did apply make up every day but on days when I don't, people keep asking if I am ill... I am... but I don't enjoy spending the day talking about it. So I apply some make up and I look like I am normal and everyone lets me get on with my day without explanations. if you've got brows, celebrate that you're healthy 🫶 always lots to be grateful for 💗 we all have blessings we can count 🙏 have a wonderful day

      That I'd been asked before and I'm not talking from experience because since I retired from travelling and performing: I just don't travel anymore at all. When I used to perform, my hoops were so many anyway that they travelled together as "sports equipment " like bikes do. So I never used collapsible in my life. But I have friends who use collapsible hoops and they just go on etsy, there you find many hoop makers who sell collapsible hoops. Apparently they are really good. Sorry I cannot be more helpful. It was a dream of mine to not travel again and I really don't go anywhere. At home, my hoops are always fine without collapsing. The ones on esty you can easily pull apart, coil to your desired size and then connect again when you like 💖
