i was gonna ask if they're likely to have a go at a person but if they were i guess people wouldnt swim there. when our salties watch you its because they see lunch, they'l come outa the water and drag you back in with em.
@@cydniedonat7635 yup, northern Aus. i worked up there years ago when the tourist operators were teaching them to launch straight up outa the water to get the food. some of the locals didnt like it but i dont think theres been any attacks like that, except the one were it attacked a small tinnie (dinghy) and dragged this girl off the tree she was trying to climb, like 3 times. it let go to get a better grip and she'd take off up the trunk only to be grabbed again. she got out of its reach but it posted up at the base of the tree waiting, she was very lucky but i think her mate was killed.

One of my FAVORITE FLORIDA things is Luther Cambell AKA Unlcle Luke AKA 2-Live Crew & the role he played in GenX late 80's & 90's with Miami Hurricanes & TriCounty area in General.. ~~The U documentary was funny as hell to see his role in it. Of course i/we already knew this & Dude was soooo involved and gave the players perks for SACKS,INTS,TDs,,Fumbles & wins.... Good god rumor had it that Luke funded that whole booty floor for the players... I may have left Florida but i miss it...
Lived in Florida my whole life, around Charlotte Glades, northern part of the Everglades System. When I was 5, I caught a newly hatched baby gator and kept it in my bathtub until it was about 4 foot. I would take it out for walks and all. Would go fishing and catch Blue Gill to feed it. After it got 4 foot, my mom said it was too big and I had to let it go. Never once bit me. At 7, I was swimming in Lettuce Lake with the gators. Ranged from 5 to 10 foot. They would swim right next to me, about 2 foot away, and never came any closer. I was 12 when we we camping up the Peace River... way out in the myriad little islands that splatter the Peace River... and walked down to the water's edge to wash my face firet thing in the morning. The sun was coming up, and it was an absolutely beautiful day. As I washed my face... I looked over to my left... and sitting right on the bank, near the edge of the Palmettos, was huge specimen of a gator... atleast a 13 footer. This beast was huuuuuge. And there he sat the whole time... about 10 feet away... just chillin. He never made a move. I finished washing up, and decided to let him have his morning sunrise. I've been in the water with gators many times through out my life... and never had any kind of issue with them. However, I have known quite a bit of people who have gotten bit... including my stepdad. I tried to tell him... don't get in the water during mating season... but what does a 9 year old kid know, right? He jumped in and swam around for about a couple of minutes... and then a gator tagged him. It was just a warning, though... a little nip on the back of his left heel. 37 stitches is what it took to put his heel back together. As I've gotten older and wiser... I grant these creatures much more respect. Anything below 5 foot can be handled. Not that a gator just 5 foot isn't dangerous... just that they can be handled. Anything over 5 foot... just leave it alone... give it the space it has a right to... and be someplace else.
This reminds me of one time my husband, my children, and myself were on the way to Longboat Key for a wedding. The trip was several hours long. The kids were agitated, so the next lake we saw with a boat launch, we launched the kids into the water. Both of the grown ups were watching them, cause, gators. As soon as they got in the water, splashing around and playing, here comes 4 huge gators gliding towards the kids. I'm just glad the gators were pretty far away. That was only one near miss incident on our little weekend. Just gotta love Florida nature.
I tipped my kayak over the last time we went. I was taking pictures and wasn't paying attention, and a pretty good size branch took me out. I swam the kayak to shore and was feeling pretty good about it till I saw a damn gator about 100 ft away coming down off the opposite bank. So now I say I swam with the gators. We live in Florida, so I guess you gotta do it sometime in your life, if you want to be a real Floridian. 😅
Listen up folks! There’s a difference between bravery and stupidity! Please, please, please! Whatever you do, DON'T confuse the two! It could get real ugly, real fast 😮
Bro, i cant read your shirt. I know its gotta be a good one but damned if my ass cant read it. The color of the text needs to be darker. Too similar to the shirt color. Anyways, love the channel. Im a georgia boy, and though we aint like florida boys, we still family.
But who came up? Right, Florida Man! 😊
My man went under? Definitely need a part 2
Yep and he took his time about it too😅 that baby gator was sneaking up to his family jewels already
That's it, there is no part 2. He was never seen again
That is definitely next-level Florida-ing right there! 😱
Florida-ing😂😂😂
Wicks just seems like the most chill dude. Everyone should have someone like him as your buddy
Thank you 🙏🏾
Great remark! I agree!
Yes, especially since he has the plug on all the great snacks.... #bellyfriend
I keep hoping I’ll run into him one of these days so I can say hi lol. I always shop at Publix. 😂
I have my Pub Safe right next to my Publix list. ❤❤
It really depends how long the mullet is. That's the deciding factor.
😂
😂😂😂😂
Lol!!!!
Absolutely. My son's mullet was almost down to his waist. We let him keep his hair long for years, in protest of school dress codes.
We need a part 2!!!
Pronto 😂😅
MOST DEFINITELY!!!
I get a chill down my spine…
Thanks W glad you got it on your flip phone ! 😁
Me Too!!!😊
he's lucky it's a very young gator
Yes as a Floridian that one is pretty small compared to the man.
@@agrayer7104 I'm guessing 3 or 4 ft long
That is DEFINITELY next level Floridaing.
When the gator sees the human actually swimming towards it, ...it just knows something is off.
Hes just taking his swamp puppy for a swim. Florida man can be very wholesome in his natural environment 😅
Where’s part 2????
My Publix doesn’t sell cake pops. I think I need to sue.
Mine still doesn't have the French fans! 😭
Just ask the manager...he will get them for you
Publix has cake pops now?
That was the best comment!! 🤣🤣🤣

Words. I have none.
No thanks 😅 I will watch from the shore😊
😂😂😂😂 at the music. This sound kills me each and every time!!!!
WHY?? Only in Florida 😂😂
Thankfully, a smaller gator. But unless it's breeding season a a big bull, gators really would rather not mess with humans. They move away.

oh jeez 💀🫣
That's a baby gator, maybe only 2 ft long. Nothing to be afraid of.
We need to get Wicks to upgrade from that flip phone. 😂😂😂😂😂

"Their" is a possessive... And I'm 99% sure you don't know what a possessive is.

I was kayaking near lake Monroe and a gator 🐊 rolled under my boat. It could have knocked me out. No way would I want gators that close under water.
Aint no lie told here.
I read somewhere that as long as you keep your eyes on them alligators and crocodiles won’t attack because they are ambush predators
it's just a little swamp puppy
You're definitely going to hit the thumbs up button but you wait for the catchphrase to do it ha ha
I KNOW that's not Wally the Service Gator, he got loose in Georgia.
Under the water?!?! Wha.....
