The way he lands is scary, I hope he doesn't get injured because those high jumps load up and will injure you in the future. His landings are not as ruthless as D.Rose, so I think he will last longer.
It's cool to watch the slow mo dunks/shots in the lane with contact. He is still elevating when he gets hit, so while he is either stopped or pushed back a bit on his forward momentum, he still is rising giving him excellent looks and good upper body positioning to get a balanced lay in or dunk. Reminds me of D Rose, which seems like it can't last. The body can only take so much. But the highlights will live forever.
I used to enjoy watching Morant in the begining when he made it to the NBA. But, while he is an astounding NBAer in passing shots, scoring baskets in so many ways, and his height in the air...his CHILDISH reactions after EVERY play he completes have become a huge turn off. A.I. at 5' 11' was the most interesting player to ever run the court. It was always about the game, and after one "mad" play he didn't show out but was immediately off to do his best to help his team mates win the game like a grown up. He had "swag" but more important he had confidence in his ability to play, and and a brilliant class aura that made his fans and (non fans) love and respect him. Sadly, Morant is in the "stupid..." and immature zone. Hope he grows up soon and recognizes his short coming....and that every night it isn't all about him. Oh and I disagree with the folks here that compare him to Jordan. Jordan could make baskets, fly in the air to make a dunk like Dr. J. (exactly like Dr. J.) but there was nothing special about how he ran the court. And while the spotlight was always on MJ, he had John Paxson, Steve Kerr, Ron Harper, Horace Grant, Scotty Pippen, and Dennis Rodman. And he never was as quick as A.I. nor as agile or introduced a slice of hip hop plus grace to the game.
The Jam he missed coming from the top would have been the best I've seen. Been around prior to Jordan and i haven't seen anyone who has better moves with a ball. Not talking about the handle, talking about scoring points.

Surpass? In 4 years with no postseason success? It's a bit soon don't you think? He surely has the potential to be "MJ great"... but the career achievements have to match up.

Ja Morant is a phenomenal player but as a point guard will never lead the league in assists because he is too offensive minded. I'm looking at his play in this video and it's all him on the offensive end.
I’m not impressed, the league is soft now in this generation….nobody plays defense. He would never do this back in the 90’s & wouldn’t even be a household name
