    I’ve took the piss out of festool drill for years but the impact tid is awesome with the 4ah batteries which are flat and light for the super fast air stream chargers are highly recommended. I’ve sold my makita drills now . Very impressed

    I love Festool but the Milwaukee M12 Impact Gen 2 is plenty of gun for most situations and has plenty of finesse. I rarely use the m18 3rd generation I have unless im doing really heavy application. If youre doing interior work you want the size of the M12 Gun to carry all day its ideal size and power is undeniable. Theres no reason for M18 impacts to get any stronger at this point the heads/fastners can't handle the power as it is. I want smaller and stronger not just blue and green.

    The main drawback of the impact driver is the sound they make. They are heavy on the ears. That's why I don't have them and still holding back buying one.

      They make impacts that are a good bit quieter now - Milwaukee Surge, Makita Oil Impulse, Ridgid Stealth Force, Ryobi QuietStrike.

    I think you covered it but I couldn't make it out - does the TID have a Centrotec chuck and you use the adapted to use regular 1/4" hex bits?

    • @daveishywood782
      @daveishywood782 4 года назад

      Jeff Zanin I’ve got this drill it takes usual 1/4 hex bits .

    • @jeffzanin5503
      @jeffzanin5503 4 года назад

      @@daveishywood782 Thanks. This make more sense to me at least for the U.S & Canada market. So the green bit holder is just a way to hold the insert bits - it looks like the BHS 60 CE 205097 but with a conventional 1/4" shank instead of Centrotec. I don't see this on the Festool USA site.

    I love my Festool products and I've been getting a collection. But I fail to see how this displays the Festool innovation. Maybe it's because I'm in Australia, but this is 3 times the price of a completing Milwaukee or Makita which are both more compact form what I can see and almost impossible to justify.

    • @AegirWatches
      @AegirWatches 4 года назад

      Tony I have a lot of Festool stuff, in Australia also. I don’t have the t18 , as I already had a Dewalt impact and drill and other non woodwork items, so invested in the batteries . I do have the cxs 10.8 v, which I love. If you make furniture, it is enough. If my Dewalt dies though, I will replace them with these

    Sedge, I've been enjoying these presentations very much, I'm new to Festool and I am enjoying seeing the breakdowns within various categories. I would like to offer some constructive critiques of your explanations: Occasionally you go a little deep into a topic and skip over the basics, and that is probably because you live and breath all this info on a daily basis. As an example, your explanation of the difference between a hammer drill and a impact driver was a bit confusing until you showed the example of the wrench on the bolt, which was a great immediate teaching aid. But as for the section preceding, had I not already know how they work I would have been confused. If you had started with the wrench example for impact and a hammer on a steel rod [ala John Henry the steel driven' man] for the Hammer drill you'd have explained it in 10 seconds. I was also unclear if the TID uses a centronic chuck in addition to standard hex bits. Another example from the Dust collector vid, you didn't introduce the CT 36 AC as being primarily for use with the Planex, and for drywall dust, we had to figure that out as the presentation went along.
    Again, trying to be constructive and I really enjoy and appreciate the content!

    I’m really interested in the tools but I wish the gentleman would dial down the goofiness… He’s at an 11, he needs to dial it down to 1. It doesn’t help the presentation, It distracts from everything.
