      @@Dior4m Agreed. The crowd definitely influences the match, some players can block that out better than others. Rublev (whom I love) played great tennis and he knew going in that he would be up against Tiafoe and the crowd. Tonight, all things considered, Tiafoe happened to be the better player. BTW Tiafoe has previously (earlier this year in rome or monte carlo) lamented about not being supported by americans the way he is supported when he plays in europe.

    Tiafoe was brilliant, continuing where he left off from Nadal.
    Rublev on the other hand is too one dimensional-- if hitting the cover of the ball doesn't work, he folds mentally, explodes and loses the match.

    Tiafoe, Kyrgios, auger, gasquet, the flashiest hands in tennis. You could never doubt this guy, he, like an early alcaraz/auger had swings but played stationary, but his IQ experience has advanced and hes got body and tactics with those flashy hands.

    Two of my favorite players on the tour, though I was pulling for Big Foe and figured he'd have too much game for Rublev. Tiafoe can adapt and change his tactics; Rublev just has one speed.

    This match confirmed my hate for the us open crowd, I understand them cheering for the one of their country, but it's totally disrespectful to celebrate every single time Andrey failed, and not celebrate even when he made incredible shots. It broke my heart to see him crying, I hope he can recover from this soon and come back stronger ❤️

      Yes I agree about the crowd being disrespectful, but the truth is Andrey is pretty average for a top 10 player. He probably will never win a slam because his game is too one dimensional to have an impact on better players.

      @@jonfreeman9682 yes, but for example I remember this year in the final of belgrade that was Andrey vs Novak of course that the crowd was cheering more for Novak which makes sense, but they still cheered Andrey even when he won, so today really the crowd was disrespectful, they didn't even clapped for him as he left

    Tiafoe is clearly being uplifted by the support of the crowd. But now that he's in the semis, the stakes are higher and the crowd might actually become a source of additional pressure more than anything else. We saw it happen a lot with Serena in the last few years, namely against Osaka and Andreescu. When the stakes are high, even the greatest tend to crumble when they play in front of their home crowd...

    • @kundakaps
      @kundakaps 2 года назад

      Nah.
      Serena's nerves post-partum have little to do with the crowd.
      She just doesn't have that mental edge after having a baby.
      I really believe had she not gotten pregnant she would have won 5 slams more.
