America ain't isolationist. North Korea is isolationist. America traded with the whole world during the 1920s so when the depression hit, the whole world also got depressioned.
Fun fact 1: Japan didn’t really bomb peal harbor very well we where able to get it up and running again after the attack. Fun fact 2: The atomic bombs that where used in Japan exploded above the ground not on the ground so that way the nectar radiation wouldn’t be there for the next 700 million years and Japan could rebuild that city. 7:47 only in Hawaii 8:11 literal got us with are pants down 2:28 - 2:33 this had me on the floor 2:51 did he call American her or did I hear that wrong
Fun fact #2 edit: The real reason bombs are blown up above the ground instead of ground level is so halfish of the energy isn't sent into the ground, doing nothing. This way it can deflect off the ground and meet the rest of the outgoing energy, effectively increasing blast radius. TLDR: Craters aren't very useful.
This video made me realize that America always intervenes in other wars because They don’t want the same thing to happen. They want to strike first instead of not striking at all.
In Korea and Vietnam the northern Communists attacked first dragging the US into the war and America’s invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan had nothing to do with “striking first” for self defense. These countries didn’t have the military capabilities to deliver a devastating first strike such as Pearl Harbor and didn’t seek war with a world superpower. It’s the same with other interventions in e.g. Yugoslavia or Cuba.
@@bratwurstgamer6787 The one in Vietnam and Korea were civil wars, US has no right to directly intervene and by the way the US purposely instigated a false flag in Vietnam so that they can invade. US never cared about Democracy, they openly supported a Cuban Dictator like Batista, Sha of Iran and even Saddam before they lost control of him. It's all about expanding their military reach or getting resources from another country.
Pearl Harbor was the first part of the Second World War that I learned about, so therefore it is my favorite one to read and learn about. I must say that they recreated it perfectly

Heartland theory is geographical deterministic, but it does seem true that everytime UK/US or whatever power at the outlying islands go too isolationistic (splendid isolation/1930s US), bad stuff is going to happen and they will be dragged into the crisis anyway.
I think this severely under-represents how massively America aided the allies before "officially" joining the war. From the start, they provided tons of nonmilitary supplie, then eventually military supplies. In fact, it is very similar to what America has been doing for Ukraine for years now. We have now mastered the art of helping allies at war without going to war.
Looking at how much your two big political parties have encouraged hatred and division amongst fellow Americans, yes, I'd say Washington did have a point when he opposed the creation of political parties. All it seems to do now is undermine the "United" in "United States of America".
First, that war thunder sponsor is actually the best way to sponsor it, second, i paused it and Britain looks really funny and there's also a Czechoslovak airplane (I'm Czech)
Yep, not sure why people think NATO existed before WW2, we had no real reason nor requirement to help Europe, the fact that we ended up sending millions was an act of huge selflessness, not "being late" as many ungrateful people or soviet dividers put it. Now we do, and I'm glad we're all allies, it just sometimes feels like some allies fall for kremlin propaganda that implies the US was "late" to ww2, can't be late when you're not in an official alliance, and US was sick of European wars. I'm glad we ended up joining and saving the world, but it's almost like some people feel they were entitled to it and mad we didn't do it sooner, despite FDR doing everything he could to help Eurasia. At that point, sending millions of people to save other people on a whole different continent was crazy and unprecedented, even today it's still crazy, I don't remember any other continent sending millions of its own people to save another continent. I guess lots of Indians, Australians, New Zealanders, and Canadians served in WW2, so maybe that's the closest example? But they were all in the same empire, we helped completely different civs, and sent way more to help them. So yah, I still think to this day what the US did was unprecedented, instead of late, we were pioneers in a new world where democracies help/protect each other.
America and Canada are two of the luckiest countries in the world not being in Europe or the east and separated from all the chaos, I'm glad to live in Canada except for our PM
It would be cool if you titled your long videos as what they are such as "The attack on pearl harbor" so if someone is searching for that they find this video
Thank you for making this video. America never really wanted to be a super power but someone had to stop europe from blowing themselves and the whole world up constantly. It’s important to remember this
If memory serves Pearl Harbor was just like the perfect fucking storm brewing on the day of the attack. The attack happened on a Sunday I think, so the ships and bases were running with basically skeleton crews as a majority of servicemen were in chapel or off base. The plans were all laid out on the air field because the base commander was afraid of sabotage or something, ammo and what not was also Uber lock and key I think so it took time for AA to respond. And much more I’m likely forgetting. But also in the sense the Japanese kinda messed up the attack I think, while they did heavily damage and sink several ships I don’t think they hit fuel depots, the sub base, or the dry docks I think. So for the most part it did slow down American response and limit resources, it didn’t take too long to at least get things moving again. Interesting side note, if I remember correctly many historians argue that if America jumped in sooner in either world war America would’ve probably wouldn’t of had the same impact as it did, if not actually hinder it. For the First World War for example, active duty servicemen numbers were actually quite low as well as industry, since America took a bit to enter the war it gave time for industry to slow shift to a more war focused one. It also greatly improved economy overall I think
This video is good for people who don't study history in schools , which makes people know more about history with entertainment videos, really well done MrSpherical we need more videos like this

Mrspherical got something wrong. When British said "For the queen" even though during world war 2. The British had a king. They didn't get a queen until the 1950's.
The Nazi Party which controlled Germany during WWII believed that ethnic Germans were superior to all other peoples and used that as justification for conquering most of Europe
The germans wanted a pure race which was the aryans, which means ONLY aryans would exist on this earth with every other race extinct. And they also thought that the jews were the worst of the races, which is why the holocaust happened.
It was a group of people that the Nazis thought were better than everyone else (Christian, white, abled) and people that weren’t part of this “Superior race” were often killed or sent to concentration camps

Hi
At 4:00 when the video was showing China vs Japan, the flag of China was actually this 🇹🇼 this was because during the war, China was the Republic of China and the Communist took over in 1949 so basically the Taiwanese flag is just an old Chinese flag
They formed a united front and fought together
@@MikhailMyers even then the 5 star flag was nonexistent. Author made a stupid error and that’s that.

Nice!
Fun fact #2 edit: The real reason bombs are blown up above the ground instead of ground level is so halfish of the energy isn't sent into the ground, doing nothing. This way it can deflect off the ground and meet the rest of the outgoing energy, effectively increasing blast radius.
TLDR: Craters aren't very useful.
nobody knew the effects of radiation at that time

Uk went like “treat me like white tees”
This video made me realize that America always intervenes in other wars because
They don’t want the same thing to happen. They want to strike first instead of not striking at all.
Except now America has destabilized all economies lol.
Also dont forget money and resources..
Or to colonize another country, Old Habits Die Hard.
Germany: we can do this
Japan: yea about that...we attacked america

Heartland theory is geographical deterministic, but it does seem true that everytime UK/US or whatever power at the outlying islands go too isolationistic (splendid isolation/1930s US), bad stuff is going to happen and they will be dragged into the crisis anyway.
I think this severely under-represents how massively America aided the allies before "officially" joining the war. From the start, they provided tons of nonmilitary supplie, then eventually military supplies. In fact, it is very similar to what America has been doing for Ukraine for years now. We have now mastered the art of helping allies at war without going to war.
Yes a 10 minute video finally I love long videos about country balls

Looking at how much your two big political parties have encouraged hatred and division amongst fellow Americans, yes, I'd say Washington did have a point when he opposed the creation of political parties. All it seems to do now is undermine the "United" in "United States of America".

Last time I checked america was never in war with russia in like the past 100 years

Hi
You got the beginning backwards. Japan had already been expanding for years. Some say the beginning of ww2 was actually in the early 1930s.
Thank you for making this video. America never really wanted to be a super power but someone had to stop europe from blowing themselves and the whole world up constantly. It’s important to remember this
Yeah, we europens are pretty good at that, if you look at our history.

I was like “ I’m not getting war thunder” but French’s “Damnn” was enough to convince me and I love it!!
@spherical_154 your not mr spherical
USS Enterprise was hours away from Pearl Harbor, she would have reached on the day prior but was delayed by a storm
"I will never admit defeat" 😂

Mrspherical got something wrong. When British said "For the queen" even though during world war 2. The British had a king. They didn't get a queen until the 1950's.
As in India we rarely have any knowledge about WW2 so can my friend's from Europe or America can Eloborate me about What is Superior Race? 0:39
To the Nazis it’s the aryan Race.
4:00 Although I don't really want to pour cold water on it, but during World War II, it was the Republic of China 🇹🇼 that was fighting the Empire of Japan. At that time, the People's Republic of China 🇨🇳 didn't exist and belonged to one of the armies of the Republic of China 🇹🇼.
