    I went to college with Christine for Music Theatre and the first time I heard her sing I said to myself "That girl is going to be a star!!" I'm so proud of her. And she is such a sweet and wonderful person too.

    I absolutely adore that she did the Jennifer DiNoia "Take a message back" riff. It's by far my favorite way to perform that line.

      I love her performance it’s better than idina it’s clearer and she won’t ruin her voice by straining it

    LOVE that phrasing on "at least I'M flyING free." Sounds good when anyone does it, and especially good from her.

    Speechless ... What an amazing performance. She never fails to bring it & own it. I love how this was filmed and captured on stage , we get to see all her facial expressions and her acting. Something that not many people can see in the actual theatre because they may be sitting too far. I LOVE her growl when she says "look to the western sky" it truly shows the emotion in the song.

    2:30 Amazing. I loved that short growl in "look" . a la Rachel tucker maybe?
    And her second "bring me down" made my day

      +TheMetfan81 Amazing growl. Actually I haven't heard any audio of Rachel with a growl on "look". For me it's Christine's personal touch since day 1

      Rachel does it so often that you can even hear her in the cover she recorded for her solo album (2013 I think). I don't know who came up with that first though

      I have seen Rachel Tucker twice on broadway and have seen several videos of her and never heard a "look" growl. I have just heard her growl after the second "bring me down"

      Check her version for her album. It's in youtube. Still, maybe none of them came up with it. Who knows

    I am a huge Dwyer fan but is no one else noticing how pitchy she was in this performance? She missed several notes throughout it. I've definitely heard her sing this better.

      You're not wrong. However, as many runs that she has had with this song, there are bound to be runs that are not as good as others.

    Okay so I met her in a very odd way when I went to New York earlier this year.
    Here’s a story sisters:
    My family and I went on a trip to New York and the day after we watched wicked on broadway we went to this very good restaurant that I can’t exactly recall the name of, but it was 2 stories and the upstairs space was being used for a party. People were walking in and going straight upstairs with like instruments and stuff. There was singing and music coming from upstairs and my mom asked what was going on and apparently it was a birthday party. Also the man who owned the restaurant used to do some kind of work on wicked. The guy said we could go up that they wouldn’t mind and he said if we didn’t we’d take us up there (he was a very cool guy I felt weird intruding on this guys birthday tho, but my mom made me because I want to be in musical theater one day and that’s what the whole party was made of) so we go up there and we watched a couple of people preform and then we meet this woman who played alphaba (I’m sorry if I spelled that wrong.) it was Christine Dwyer, and they were celebrating her fiancée’s birthday who I guess was working in the waitress at the time, which was cool. It kind of sucked tho because at the time I had no idea who she was, I just knew she played alphaba at some point and she does broadway. But basically that’s the coolest thing that happened to me even if I didn’t know her at the time. Okay I’m done Thanks for listening to my Ted talk bye.

    I had the privilege of seeing her on the 2nd National Tour when they were in Edmonton, Canada ~11 years ago. She stood in for Anne Brummel. Natalie Daradich as Glinda. I was a little disappointed that there were certain tech issues. I remember the lift didn't work for No Good Deed, so she started the "FIYERO!!!!" cry while she was still in the wings and ran on. I'm guessing she had to run all the way back up, Grimmerie in hand. I was extremely impressed how she was able to make it work. Anyone who didn't know how the show was supposed to work must've thought it was intentional.

    No offense, but she sings it oddly. And she sung it alone so the lyrics changed. And she seems a little behind. The ending was good though. :)

    Did they use the costumes from the German productions?

    • @henryleeactorsinger
      @henryleeactorsinger 8 лет назад +1

      Elphaba's act 2 costume doesn't have any differences in different replica productions because they're usually made for the actress; each one is different. Kara's bubble dress, crown and necklace were all the Broadway/Tour design (I'm sure she wore it on Broadway as well), so I'm gonna say that Christine's was probably her own.

    • @YasniDaCubanito
      @YasniDaCubanito 8 лет назад

      Each actress has their own costume/fitting , if Christine was to perform they would obviously dress her in her own gown. Now yes different productions may change stuff around. Like how the wands & accessories are different for Glinda in many productions.

    • @pointone1125
      @pointone1125 8 лет назад

      "Travel ALL the costume pieces to Germany"? It's just one dress each. They could have easily taken it with them in their suitcase. Why on earth would they want to go through the trouble of getting a costume piece from the German production out of storage (which might not even fit) when they can just bring their own dress?

    • @NairAthul
      @NairAthul 3 года назад

      @@pointone1125 aren't all the costumes from every production stored in NYC? In Felicia Ricci's book she mentioned seeing costumes from multiple productions kept in storage at the costume house.
