- Exclusive interview with one of the loyalist of Baba Chief Commander, Alhaji Vasco daGama. Baba Vasco DaGama was with Chief Commander Ebenezer Obey right from the formative days of Ebenezer Obey and his International Brothers Band, with the likes of Samson Ogunlade, Oke Aminu and many others. Although, age is telling on him and he could only hear from his left hears, Baba still took time to go over his golden days with Ejire. Enjoy!
We are glad we were able to me with Baba before his death on 20th August 2024. Adieu Baba!

One of the greatest band of all time, in the history of Nigeria , International Brothers, Baba Obey will practically sing the praise of all member of his band from the most senior to the least, hence why the band members were so popular till date, From Alagba Fasco Dagama, Monday John, Oke Aminu, Mutiu Kekere, Ayodele Director, Isreal Adio, Arigidi and the band captain Samson Ogunlade. We always hear this name while growing, not until I became an adult before I realise that they were International Brothers band member…Baba Obey need to do a documentary.
Ejire and Co, you have no idea how valuable your work with all these legends is. 👏🏿 This is simply wonderful. Keep it up. 💯 😀
We will! Thanks for the encouragement!
Just spoke with Baba on phone, he sound so smart and intelligent. I specifically called to ask him about a song have been looking for .

Thanks for the info!
Alagba Fasco Dagama took me down a memory lane, Alhaji Ajagbe was at Ladipo Street at the corner of Odulana Stree, Mushin, he was our caretaker.
Buhari street use to be our school's playground/field. I attended OAMS (Odu Abore Memorial School) Mushin, former Western Region. The school assemble takes place at Buhari street and we then matched to school. The school Headteacher at the time was Mrs Harbour (Iyala family).
OAMS was the largest primary school in the western region then.
Mayflower Hotel former Abalabi Hotel at Olorunsogo, Agege Motor Road was a good spot.
Amun street off Palm avenue was close-by it was good old days sir,
The independent school parade 1st October 1960 took place at Buhari street playground.
Long live Baba Alagba Fasco Dagama
Wow! Great memories. Thanks for sharing sir. Lagbara Olorun, Naija must sweet again!
You too must be an Old School then😄
Mushin has many evergreen history in Lagos, both the Good the Bad and the Ugly. I loved Obey music because they are Educational and Inspirational of all time. Kudos to Baba Fasco and Ebenezer.
That Mushin produced a whole lot of stars, similarly to Bariga.
I have been waiting for this grace and previledge to see this legend , the man I have been longing to see for decades. I really appreciate it, may God Almighty continue to bless you.

Watching this man move me to cry. Most of our celebrities musicians forgot their old members and accociates. I recalled your interview with Barristers singer Tajudeen and more. Kin lo dee.

WOW! He is my uncle. My Dad was the ONIRO OF IRO from 1991 till he passed on in 2012. THANKS GUYS FOR THE GREAT INTERVIEW.
Ver small world. Oruko rere san ju wura ati fadaka lo. Ka sha ma se daadaa.
This is just a nice journey down memory lane. However Baba missed the fact that Inter Reformers was preceded by International Brothers. Nice interview.
Great observation. Baba ti dagba. May God give him better years ahead.
What ever must have happened, Alagba Vasco Dagama deserved sympathy and honour for this old man.
Is Vasco Dagama still alive
Nigbati TV Could you Make a Concert / Awards ceremony to bring all these legends (Drummers, Musician, Actors ) together
and Nigbati TV please increase Ejires and crew Salary Oooooooooooo
He is a genius with this Legends
Noted boss. With your support, the sky is the limit!
Are you going to fund it?
@@ultimateone Let's be civil to ourselves in our remarks. Omoluabi ni gbogbo wa
Another great one from Ejire, although their were some missing points, when they left rolling dollars band ,they formed international brothers, when baba left Obeys band he formed his own band singing bolojo mosic, matter of fact he had about two or three albums available on you tube.keep up the good job.
Thanks for the info!
Is,baba day alive
Nice one Ejire & the team!
Thank you!
Baba ti dagba! Long live sir.
I need to make a request, can you people help this legend to reproduce his past music because nobody is singing such brand of music anymore, that brand of music should not die just like that and I pray God Almighty will bless you beyond your imagination in Jesus mighty name
Great reminiscences!
Thanks for watching!
Ejire and Co.... you are doing a great job and God bless all these veterans.
I grew up with Obey & Sunny Ade music....During my mum's 50th birthday party & house dedication, Commander was on the stand. We had good time.
Is there anyway I can get the cassette for that party at Ibadan in 1984.
Kindly advise and thanks.
Let us help baba Fasco , may God continue to bless him
God bless!
Baba Vasco Dagama has sound memory even at his age of 87 years. Ojo a dale Sir.
Thanks for this interview. I have been waiting for IT. Kudos to the team.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Amen. Thank you sir!
Good job dear Ejire. I would have loved you to ask why Papa is called Vasco Dagama.
Well done 👍. Ojo a tubo kaale. Amin.
Great thought. Will add it to our template.
Ejire, Thank you very much for this historical insight into the life baba Vasco Da Gama.
Could you please also arrange to interview King Sunny Ade, if you have not done this already?
Great interview.. kudos nigbati tv 👌
Thank you for watching!
Wow! This is so interesting!😀😀😀
Glad you think so!
I heard this man left this world yesterday, 22 Aug 24, may God forgive you your shortcomings baba
Yes. Ki Olorun te baba si afefe rere
“Alagba Vasco Da Gama, o se bi okunrin sugbon epa o boro mo”.
Yi o da fun e Ejire Oyila. Baba Da Gama, e pe fun wa o Baba.
Thanks
I guess Baba Vasco meant to say the name of the band they formed after leaving Fatai Rolling Dollar was International Brothers band which later changed to Inter Reformers band in 1973/74
Very sincere
Late alhaji Ibrahim fasasi also people know as fasco dagama I want to ask Papa is he heard the name
This interview is kinda confusing. I thought the real Alhaji Vasco Dagama the Obey back up singer who did Bolojo music in no more. Who is this Baba?
Lori Lawrence and mutiu kekere nko?
"Alagba Vasco Dagama, o sebi okunrin sugbon e pa o gboro mo."
Opelope oyinbo o, n'ile keji, to nkigbe fa, fa, fire, fire ki panopano to de. O se baba mi.
Job well done , but you would have ask him about other band boys well being, who are still alive, and the one's that have died.
The closeness of them all.
noted
BABA VASCO DAGAMA IS LIKE YOU ARE MISSING IT UP THE FIRST BAND IS INTERNATIONAL BROTHERS BAND IT WAS LATER CHANGED TO INTER REFORMERS BAND IN 1975
Ojo ti pe! Baba ti da gba! Thanks for watching!
is Baba Vasco Da Gama from Egba or Yewa. he sings Bolojo genre of music. i always play his music on RUclips bcs of old memory in Abeokuta, OGBC
Will you please interview the Chief Commander himself, please?
We been working on it for ages, hopefully it will come through soon! Thanks
E ku irole Ejire. Ẹ kú ise opolo o.
E jowo e bawa din 'ehn, ehn' ku ninu oro yín sir.
Noted Alagba!
That line "Bó ṣe tèmi pelu ara ile mi.." was taken from the book of Joshua in the Bible. When Joshua the son of Nun succeeded Moses, taking Israelites to the promised land. He addressed them at length and reminded them about the good things that God had done in their lives. At the end he said "choose today whom you will serve, whether the Egyptian gods or the God of your fathers.. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord". Read the book of Joshua Chapter 1.
Wow! Thanks for the enlightenment sir.
You don't ask him about his own song, BOLOJO. I have many of his song alone
Point of correction, international brothers was created before interefomers, but I can understand, baba is old.
Baba is really old o and he’s having difficulties recollecting the sequence of events.
This is one of the toughest interview so far. The road to Iro from Ofada is something else. In addition, Baba hearing needs urgent medical attention, hence he could only hear from the left side!
@@NigbatiTV E ya. All he probably needs is a hearing aid. Has he not got one?
Inter reformer was formed late in August 1973 after Oke Aminu death.
Thanks for the information.
Pls sir. Kindly help to rewrite their acct # to be more visible next time.
Thx so much for the interview. Good job.
Noted. More blessings 🙏🏿
Ejire,, thanks for this. WHERE IS ADEKONGA?
U mean the old man that played konga for olando owoh? If so he died in 2007
Is his info still current and is he still with us? Thx you

Of course. He actually said so too if you listen intently.
This legend old man is advanced in age, he most likely/probably mean to say ambulance. We should consider his old age and the ability to recollect events.
