I don’t get why the elves speak English with Danish words in the Danish version, English with Finnish words in the Finnish version and English with Norwegian words in the Norwegian version.
To begin with, the Danish creators and actors (De Nattergale) actually wanted to create a whole new language for the elves - but when they found out exactly how big of a task that was, they decided to make it a mix between Danish and English, which also had the benefit of making the song writing easier, because you had easier finding words that could rhyme. The Norwegian and Finnish networks bought the rights to make their versions, but of course they have to follow the script and the premises for the show - the mixing of the languages being of one of those...
