- On 11th December 1994, a bomb explodes on Philippines Airlines Flight 434 on the second leg of service from Manila to Tokyo via Cebu City, killing a passenger, injuring many people, and damaging some of the aircraft's control systems. The crew successfully lands the aircraft at Naha Airport in Okinawa. Subsequent investigation determined that Ramzi Yousef, a terrorist, smuggled the bomb aboard the aircraft on the first leg of its flight.

The most recent aircraft bombing was Daallo Airlines Flight 159 on February 2, 2016 where a suicide bomber detonated an explosive hidden in a laptop. Fortunately, the plane had been delayed and the bomb simply blew a hole in the plane and it safely returned to the airport. The only fatality, whose body was also sucked out of the plane, was the bomber himself.

I enjoyed this video because it included international detective work in finding the bomber. I remember being agitated when TSA started getting more involved with airport safety checks. Then, another bomb in another country brought down an airliner. My irritation disappeared!

If we could either prove it or disprove it, I'd bet even money that Maxwell Smart is where he got that idea. Also, this video reminded me of a Superman comic book where the villain did the exact same thing as this terrorist. He brought a bomb past heavy security into a large factory by disguising the components in everyday items. There's probably a number of criminal tactics that were inspired by works of fiction. Humans are strange creatures. What else can I say ???
Look up American Airlines Flight 63 because that person who tried to detonate plastic explosives in his shoe is why you have to remove your shoes before going through the screening.

From what I have read, Ramzi Yousef is in Federal Prison under 24/7 solitary confinement. He is complaining that this is unfair treatment. He wants to be in the general population with the same privileges as the other prisoners. I cannot express my thought on this out of fear of being targeted.
He's complaining? Nobody made him bomb a plane full of innocent people. WOW!!

The criminal negligence of the airlines is conclusive. Not putting in preventative measures for detecting explosives is mind blowing. I will never fly again.
These were days of long ago. 9/11 has beefed up security standards to a much more acceptable level.
