    Philly it's not because they don't have fridge that they eat "day by day" part of the culture is that they cook fresh home cooked meal everyday. Most don't believe in eating leftovers. It's mostly the very very poor who probably don't have a fridge nowadays!

    • @frankch28
      @frankch28 4 года назад +5

      It's like the chicken and the egg type of situation. It's not because of the culture that people go food shopping everyday. There's a difference between liking to cook everyday and having to shop for it everyday. They go to market everyday because a lot of them don't have fridges to keep fresh food fresh. Even if they do have the appliances unless you have solar power and generators in your house, you can't count on the electricity to run it.

      Amen....most people dont understand that culture.....I miss my fresh, organic food in Haiti

      It’s a sentiment that is rooted from poverty and lack of choices in meal creation. Most household don’t have access to microwave, an oven, a panini grill, barbecue grill, nor fridge, so their imagination is limited of what they can do with left over. Food is one thing that is passed down from generation to generation. By the way, people are not in race with time like in the state, they can seat and enjoy a meal. I love the fresh cooking and the only reason I look forward to go.

    It is beautiful to see places were the trees and nature are respected in haiti. Reminds me of jarabacoa.

    Philly, if you have more than 50% of poor people in a city or country, it means there are about 5% rich people, really rich ( earning at least 100 times the income of a working poor). For example, a garment working poor in Haiti earns 5 dollars a day BUT the top manager/owner will get at least 500 dollars a day.
    Most of the mansion owners in Kenscoff are business owners ( bottling plants, importers of food, gas stations owners,etc)

    This is also the coldest place in Haiti. Temperature during the winter months can drop as low as 50 F.

    Haiti is a beautiful country, the people and the landscape, And it probably would be looking better than that if France and their conspirators had not stuck it to them for centuries. That place Kenscofff where your staying could be easily mistaken for Southern California with its rolling hill. Nice video bro.

    It’s a shamed that beautiful houses are hidden from plain view. They are trash on the sidewalk. Why not create a job opportunity that keeps someone employed, cleaning up the sidewalk, the grass cut near the side walk. Everyone in the neighborhood pitch in.

    You keep saying that not everyone is poor in Haiti when that is a matter of fact in every country in the world.No need to emphasize that when there is 85 percent poverty and 50 percent extreme poverty.Besides no one should be judged by their financial situation instead by their integrity and honesty like any human should be judged.

  • @gamafrederick1863
    @gamafrederick1863 3 года назад

    Man, I hate these Loto places, this is what I hate about Haiti, you can go anywhere, you spend $1 million to build a villa, some loser will come and put a shack right in front of it, to sell food, loto, etc- and you can't do nothing about it.
    That's why we can never have a nice looking neighborhood.

    You should be showing a real rich neighborhood instead of constantly saying not all Haitians are poor andvthen showing a neighborhood who regular City employees from the states can afford to own. Not one of the homes you showed us worth more than 300 thousand US dollars you are doing a disservice to the real wealthy Haitians.

      I think he wants you to appreciate the landscape. All these big houses are gated so you don’t get to see how the rich lives inside of them. They come in and out of their mansions, go right by the poor people and they don’t even notice them. That helps to perpetuate the abject poverty. The saying that Haiti is too rich to be poor refers to the richness of the island.
