Raikkonen in the tyre war was the fastest driver I've ever seen. Period. He adapted to the Michelins better than anyone, and was in his prime physically too. He deserved 2 titles with McLaren. Car unreliability let him down.
Mate, I know you make Kimi vids, how's about making one with the Priestley stating Kimi is fastest driver in those two podcasts, also Andrea Stella. Deserves to be out there in case these podcasts disappear etc.
10:55 onwards - happy that Marc still gives Kimi his props to this day - Kimi in his prime was absolutely insane. Faster than them all. I remember those races, it was a great joy to watch Raikkonen, because he would drive the wheels off the car. If only Mclaren and Mercedes gave him a more reliable and consistent car year on year. He would've had had multiple world championships against Schumi, Alonso and Montoya.
He, you "asked Elvis" Mark is such a likable guy. He has a way of painting a vivid picture of his experience in the sport. He had one of my favorite post race podcasts. Good job with the interview boys . Mark has a lot of good stories.

It's not, it;s simply presenting the subject matter in a way where your audience understands it. It's lazy thinking to say "oh the sport is too complex" thats why it's not big. Kimi Raikkonen 2003-2005 was so insanely fast driver, it's not even real. I have watched some laps from that era and that is not human. Too bad McLaren reliability was trash, he'd have 3 titles. He was never, ever again the same driver at Ferrari.
Fastest over a lap is extremely far from best driver FWIW. I agree you can’t go purely by results, but with a guy like Schumacher, I think the results reflect the total package. Then there’s a guy like Hamilton. Unquestionably a great driver, but seven WDCs on teams that scored the most points nine times.
I can. If you aren't a bias fan its quite clear those 2 along with michael and ayrton may be the 4 most naturally talented drivers ever. You can throw jim clark in there too.

Watch his laps 2002-2005. Kimi in his prime. That is not human, how fast he was. Ron Dennis himself said that Kimi was the fastest driver he has ever seen. And that from a guy who had Senna, Prost, Lauda, Hakkinen in his team. Kimi was never again the same driver at Ferrari. Not even close.
@@detonator2112 He was faster with the Michelins but I doubt to say he was a worse driver after his stint with McLaren. He won his championship at Ferrari after all. When he came back with Lotus, he himself said he thought he was driving at the same quality as he did with McLaren. He was fast with Lotus and they gave him a car that was built for him, with one of the engineers being his engineer at McLaren. But he was competing against the Red Bull at the time. When he came back to Ferrari, he got paired with Seb, and Ferrari made him second driver, with strategy and car development preferred for Seb. So in a sense, we never really got to see what Kimi was made of. He had incredibly bad luck with the teams he joined, sabotaging him one way or another. Only those with the keen eye know how fast he really was, but we never saw it on track. A lot of the other top drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, give Kimi a lot of respect that the rest of the sport - the media, the management, the fans (especially new ones) don't give.
@@AA-db9cb I agree 100% what you say. To me, Kimi at McLaren was one of the best F1 drivers I've ever seen and I've been watching the sport since the days of Keke, Niki, Ayrton, Alain and De Angelis. Cheers.
