I am a disabled vet spent 7 years on submarines . To keep my mind off problems I got a 200 mig welder and a 110 120 amp stick welder. The mig is limited as it has to be plugged in the house to a dryer plug. I have fixed my wheel chair to fixing my tractor deck.
Thank you for your service sir
That's cool! :)
Thanks for posting this. I can't take my vehicle to people in order to do the work. I must do this. Excellent video.
Your films have answered all my welding questions so far, can't thank you enough.
Keep it up 👍
Nice beads, thank you for the tips and video!
Thank you very much. I'm trying to get my son into this and we both need all the help we can get.
Great video, I found it Very helpful.
Thanks for your video !!
cheers, much appreciated...Just bought a second-hand one today...
Good video! Thank you!
people goto college for months to learn this. i watched this and now i can weld.
You keep telling yourself that get 6g certified and then we will talk
It looks that way but welding can take some time to do correctly, im glad i went to college for it
@@beaufordtjustice3208 wish I could bu tt's too far away,,, consequently, here I am!...
good instruction film thanks for making it
Awesome beeds! Make more vids!!
Thank You
nice video thanks
good work
Nice welds for such a small a.c. machine
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO I HAVE THE SAME MODEL OF STICK WELDER AND I ALSO GOT A RESPIRATOR AND AUTO DARKENING HELMET EVEN BEFORE I ATTEMPED TO BURN RODS. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF ITS DUTY CYCLE?
Really look forward to your series on these little stick welders, I have often seen them for sale and though I don't have much use for a welder at the moment it would be good to know for future projects just what they are capable of and if they will suit me.
So good
Blue Steel stare @ 6:14! Eat your heart out Zoolander!
thanks man
Thanks for your video please look after your self and don't drink...
Do you find it a good welder for £60? I was looking at their gasless mig but I did my college welding training on arc yrs ago, I've tried tig in a workplace but never mig. & for now I only need to reweld a small spot on an older motorcycle where the old weld broke. The small out lay seems more worth it.
mine is not 100 but is a clark 95 . I read on a forum that the clark machine takes 5/56 or 1/ 16 best . And don't run 3/32 that good . I have yet to use the machine
I just got this welder what rods should I get?
What kind of stick u used
Hi i would like buy this model,is it good for house works?
which rods number you used?
my breaker keep tripping after a while...
Would this be suitable to weld together frame, for example 1/2 inch tube metal?
Did you ever buy this? Would it work to build a simple metal decorative fence?
100amp is 20amps too much for a 2.5mm electrode on my sureweld arc welder it just makes a mess, 80amps seems to be the sweet spot
I'm trying to find an ac welder that is good with 1/16" rods, for thin (22gauge) sheet metal. Is this welder good for it? I liked your video where you did this type of welding but it was a different welder. It seems to read the min amperage is 40 which seems high for this welder. thank you in advance if you can answer this.
did you ever get an answer to this, Robert?
@@rosstituteuk I have tried with some success but had problems too, the amperage was controllable with the welder I got but it might stick or burn through. I have not practiced to perfect it yet.
i have a "100" amp arc welder, and with 3/32 rods i cand get it to arc worth a damn. it just sticks, then sticks, then sticks, and after everything is nice and scalding it will throw and arc..i only ever really use it to weld nuts to broken studs.. what am i doing wrong? i tried full power, low power and half way.. no real difference.
AKghandi Check that you're running the welder on a 20 amp circuit, not a 15 amp one. Additionally, if the distance between the outlet you are using and your fuse box is long enough and the wiring in your house is 12ga or smaller, there may be an appreciable drop in performance. Also don't use extension cords. From there on, it's all technique/practice. If all else fails, try using 1/16" or 5/64" instead of 3/32" rods, as they require less current to burn.
+AKghandi also i reccomend from experience even if they are a little more expensive using 5/64" because I find they stick a lot less and are easy to run, in addition they also turn out a pretty nice bead. By the way depostion will be shit with these rods i.e.: autobody
Ghandi's Garage I got the same machine and the same thing happened to me couldn't weld anything ...I'd like some advice thank you.
Isaac Thomson thanks for the advice.
Kiran Digavalli I believe your advice is very good thank you very much.
I cannot seem to get it to move, I start to weld and the stick melts straight on the metal and I am forced to lift it off and start again, any hints as to what I am doing wrong would be appreciated
John Fithian-Franks I might add, have you tried moving it slowly from left to right just a touch as you move down?
John Fithian-Franks I might add, have you tried moving it slowly from left to right just a touch as you move down?
Yes, I think my problem might be to do with the rating of the machine and or the thickness of the rods. I bought my welder second hand and it came without any documentation
John Fithian-Franks what rod and size are you using? with a 3/32 rod you should use around 60-70 amps and with 1/8 you should be around 90-110 if you're a beginner then you can burn hotter once you get use to your machine, if it sticks a lot when you try to strike a arc its usually to low of Amps
Can you use 7018 rods on this?
You cant use 7018 on ac
You can they make 7018 5p+ specially for ac welding Lincoln make them but most prefer dc with an open circuit voltage of 70volts and above
I have a AC 100. What kind of general purpose rod should I use ? Thanks
2.5mm 6013 rods mate
I'm thinking of restoring an old VW Beetle. Are these 100 amp welders suitable for welding bodywork, chassis parts etc?
You'll find a MIG much easier and quicker to get the hang of in my opinion
+ELPaso1990TX if your work involves sheet metal to less than 3/16 iron, a MIG welding machine will serve you much better
