As a lifetime Houstonian, I love this place! This is high end quality cafeteria food and worth the splurge. My husband loves it even more now that he can enjoy a glass of wine with his meal. Everyone one is so friendly. I was so happy the family continued the family legendary business after the fire.
Man, the next time I'm in Houston, I've got to stop to Cleburne's to get a meal! I pray that they will continue to serve the Houston area for many years to come!
Cafeterias are endangered in the United States, slowly being replaced by unremarkable but quick and easy fast food. I'm glad we still have two in my hometown but the clientel is aging.
This restaurant is exceptionally clean! That thought never entered my mind. I don't get there as often as I would like because its a hike for me but when I must go into town it is a definite stop. At times, its a Cleburne's day. Today for instance. It's not a buffet. The staff serve you and the portions are generous. I always bring home enough for a second meal.
I'm sorry but i went here because all the hype. They give you big portions but the food is so bland and flavorless. Piccadilly and Lubys is so much better.
You must have had a cold or something. I can appreciate a good quality home cooked meal. I suppose if you don't cook you may not be able to appreciate the quality and the time effort it takes to cook a quality meal or you may just not be a foodie like some of us.
