@@piscatorial5666thank god they didn't get adames... his obp is dogshit. Even his career ops is sub 780 and his career ops+ is 108.. thats not worth 25 million a year
The Conforto signing while no one saw actually makes sense. Adames going to SF ensures that Edman stays at SS. With Mookie going to 2B the Dodgers need multiple OFs. I think Teo comes back to play LF. Conforto probably plays RF. You’re going to go with Outman in CF. The next domino will probably be what the Dodgers do with Lux. I think they’re still going to go after Crochet through a trade. I’d really be surprised if they traded Lux for Arrenado
I'll take Lux at 2B over Outman in CF, not defensively of course. But Outman held the franchise record for strikeouts in a season. He was eclipsed by Teoscar last year but Teo had over 100 bats more than Outman. Outman hit .147 last season on the big league team. If the Dodgers traded Lux at some point I'd rather see Lipcius on the big league club. He deserves a shot.
Agree, the Dodgers wanted a left handed bat in the outfield. With Betts moving to 2b, they now have room in the outfield for both Conforto and Teoscar.
Lux should start against righties. If they don't trade him let him cook. After a horrible start there was a stretch of more than five weeks when he hit .362 which was the best in MLB for that period.
Ohtani's priority > Winning as many World Series Championships as a Dodger. Soto prioritizes the bag before anything else. On that, maybe Soto dosen't care since he's already a World Series Champion himself. I see Ohtani surpassing Soto with World Series Championships but that's just my opinion since the Dodgers are completely stacked and still adding big pieces to their club.
Getting Conforto just means the Dodgers won’t be trading for Belli 🎉 and may be moving Outman, both lefty’s. Should still be in the running on Teo if Teo doesn’t see Soto getting $51M/yr and get too greedy.
Teo was never going to sign with any team before Soto signed because he would be giving up all negotiating leverage. Now that Soto signed, Teo is the prize remaining free agent and you, me & anybody else would use that leverage to get the biggest contract possible. That is not greedy, that is just basic business. The idea that the Dodgers were ever going to get Teo signed for cheap was never reality. The Dodgers still have the inside track to sign Teo because he wants to be a Dodger, but the team is going to have to pay full market value for him. It is ridiculous to expect any player to leave millions on the table just to be a Dodger…..especially when the Dodgers are making a ton of money.
Actually he is. His career ops is .004 lower than Teo. Teo batted in the middle of a potent lineup last year to help his #’s, while Conforto just spent the last 2 years in oracle park with the giants lineup. Same kinda guy. Same age. Better arm, less range.
@@dorothygale1104No disrespect, but how do you know that most dodger fans didn’t know who Teoscar was? Anyone that follows baseball knew who Teoscar was.
The MLB's no salary cap will ruin baseball's future. Good, we don't need Soto, Hope they can sign both Hernandezs. I would like to see Sasaki signing as the most important move.
First! Soto didn't get the larger contract then Ohtani. Ohtani is making 70M per year plus massive endorsements. Soto is 51M per year. Ohtani will make more after when he signs again...Soto not getting WS rings w Mets. That div is a slaughter fest and Braves and Phills are better.
There is the following detail related to that 5th year option in Soto’s contract…..if Soto exercises that option the Mets then have the option to keep Soto by increasing his salary from $51M /year to $55M over the remainder of that contract, which would increase the total value of that contract from $765M to $805M. So, Soto may very well exercise that 5th year option to put the Mets in the position of bumping his salary to $55M over the last 10 years of that contract (assuming his first 5 years are good). Of course, if Soto doesn’t perform well over the first 5 years, he obviously isn’t likely to exercise that option.
