  • What if the people on MTV Cribs had invested in timeless statement furniture and decor instead of Bentleys and a fridge full of energy drinks? You’d get Better With Age, a peek inside the homes of notable designers and tastemakers who share a love of all things pre-loved.
For our thirtieth episode we explore the universe of "Gorecore" - aka Sydney Gore’s NYC apartment. Sydney is a writer, editor, journalist, and consultant. She currently works as a Senior Digital Design Editor at Architectural Digest, and her work has been published at The New York Times, Vogue, Wall Street Journal, The Cut, W Magazine, and more. She's the queen of trend spotting, and telling dynamic stories that shift culture, and spark curiosity. Remember this summer’s Tomato Girl trend? She called it as the next viral food back in 2022.
Sydney’s design style is intentional, unique, and can only be described as “gorecore.” In other words, she puts the “fun” in functional. Some of her major influences include Betsey Johnson, Postmodernism, and Bauhaus. She’s an avid collector with impressive assortments from MacKenzie Childs, Gaetano Pesce, and tons of vinyls, vintage teapots and books.
Tour Sydney’s home and check out her favorite old things, including a vintage etagere filled with her many collectibles, and a Jonathan Adler burl wood credenza - found on Kaiyo.
