I have watched videos of weddings over the years and I will have to say that I am very impressed with the quality of photos you take. Generally the brides dress is blown out and lacking any detail and your shots are all very well done and the skin tones are also very good. GREAT JOB!!!
Quick question........why were you at iso 640 with shutter speed 1/5000th......why not iso 100 and 1/800th....that's fast enough shutter speed to capture a basketball game....
You are ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL at Wedding Photography! I shoot with Z62 & Z7 with all the same lenses you use except for the 35mm & 85mm. I plan on buying those asap but don't have them yet. I do also have the 14-24mm f2.8s & 24-70mm f2.8s Lenses. I wish I could shoot 2nd camera for you sometime. I've been shooting weddings for 8yrs off and on but I feel I would get much better shooting with someone with your "eye" for composition. I am sure you are too busy and already have a 2nd shooter but I'd shoot with you for free just to pick my wedding photography game up a notch. Seeing those Mossy Oak trees make me think you are from Georgia or Alabama or South Carolina. I live in Tennessee and would be willing to drive if you EVER needed a 2nd or 3rd shooter. I'd be happy to show you my Portfolio. I didn't intend this comment to go this direction but when I started typing it just landed here. LoL.. Anyway..... Great work and keep it up!!
Wow thank you for such a nice comment!! You can email me at hello@jennifernicole.net I would love to take a look at your portfolio. You guessed correctly-I am in South Carolina!!! I also do mentorships one on one and I will supply the model if you’re ever interested in that.
I shoot weddings, as well and yes, you’re always on AF-C but with group/crowd shots, you want to use the Wide-L with face and eye detection, not Full Area AF with face and eye; that’s for solo or couple’s portraits.
Nicole I came upon your channel by happenstance, and wow, talk about detail. there are people who make like a creator series and then charge a lot of money for this kind of informative video. so nice to see your thought process... the whole style exudes experience. even though our weddings are culturally different, a lot of what you said applies here in 🇧🇷 .. much appreciation from a new fan! cheers. .. subbing
I’m you, in NJ, and I go Z7 II + Z6 II and we basically have all of the same lenses. The only difference is that I use the 24-70mm f/2.8S and I don’t have the 50mm f/1.8S. Is the 50mm really something I should look into? If so, I’d rather have the flexibility of the 1.2 instead of 1.8.
Dear Jennifer, yes I admit it’s not obvious to everyone, but the lens hood is actually provided for a reason, and you *are* supposed to use it, not keep it on the lens in storage position...
Very nice Video, similar oes from Taylor Jackson made me follow him. Just out of curiosity, isnt the z6 better than z5? And do you notice big diffrence with the z6ii compared to the z6? I use the z6 and do sometimes struggle a little bit because I am not fast enough to change my af settings. However the new firmware update makes a big diffrence for shooting people. Thanks again for your Video, looking foeward seing your first wedding with the z9;)
Hi Jennifer - when shooting the formals after wedding you were using 85mm at F2.2 and wanted to know how you got everyone in focus at the ends? Wouldn't you want to bring the F stop up to 6 pro 8?
I would be somewhere between 1.4 and 3.2, so yes I likely was at 2.2. As long as everyone is on the same focal plane they should be in focus. I will shoot f8 only if there are 2 lines or more of people. Otherwise I want to keep the background as blurry as possible.
Thanks Jennifer! btw could you make a video compare the depth of field difference between 85 1.8s and the MC 105? Really want to know what are the advantages for both of them and whether I need to have both of them. They are definitely similar in some sense
It depends on if the subject is moving or if it’s backlit. With both of those scenarios I do. If they’re just standing there posing it’s about the same.
I purchased Nikon Z5 couple months ago and I am not happy at all, the pictures are very blurry and it does not take the pictures the way I like 😒 I went to vacations for 2-times and I did not come back home with perfect photos 😒😒

Well done Jennifer. Great BTS. Appreciate the level of details that you went into to walk others through the shoot.
Out of all the BTS videos ive seen, I feel like you and I do things more similar than anyone else I see on RUclips. Love. your videos.
VERY informative video. Good explanations of the choices and the tradeoffs.
Nice job as always. You might want to consider the teleconverter so you font have to carry that boat anchor 200-500 with you.
Thank you!! Lol we don’t. We just use it for the ceremony and my 2nd puts it on the tripod. Then it goes away.
Wonderful work. Im am astonished that pictures are tag sharp despite of shooting wide open.
Thank you!! Yes I’ve had a lot of practice shooting wide open and great equipment!
This was a pleasure tob watch, and very informative. Thank you for doing this. 👍
You’re welcome!

Great info and insights. Beautiful photos too! What focus mode do you usually use? AF-C? Do you use eye detect, single point focus or some other mode?

You are super talented!
Very nice video Jennifer!! One question please, what focus mode you use with the Z6II? Cheers!

The Z6II is just the best camera Nikon has made.
Very good!
Thank you!
Que manía de tener el parasol al revéz, cuesta mucho ponerlo como es, o quitarlo si quieres reflejos?

What are you using for your bts? I used a go-pro before but it’s older🙈 I also have a phone mount but not sure.
Where did you get the layflat mat from?

No pro here but unless you’re interested in macro I’d go for 85 and the 70-200 I know there is probably a price difference though
Making it today! Be on the lookout in the upcoming weeks. ❤️
@@Jennifer_nicole When can we expect that vid haha
What focus mode do you find is the best for bride walking down the aisle?
Do you notice a tracking difference or keeper rate vs. your Z6II and Z5?
It depends on if the subject is moving or if it’s backlit. With both of those scenarios I do. If they’re just standing there posing it’s about the same.
bellissimi scatti
what was the limitations of Z5? I'm going to buy a Z5 and Z6 II and want to make sure it's a good decision. right now I am working with D750
Z5 doesn’t work well in backlight situations and it doesn’t work as well as the Z6ii in lowlight.
@Jennifer Nicole thank you very much
get my ror preset please ))) very beautiful colors ) classic style is my favorit style for wedding )
Hi! Do you sell the preset for editing?
This is never an issue in Phoenix!
Lenses fogging up.
Ikr!! Old muggy south here.
But where did you use Nikon z 5 ?
During the preformals. I left that camera outside.
Luts name?
Why bother having a hood on if you're only going to have it on backwards?

What lens and shutter speed?
Thanks for your reply Jennifer,
the lens is 24-50mm and I am not sure about the shutter speed
