Wow, I just love the fact i got to see life before and after RUclips. I been driving professionally for over 30 years, driven tankers, dry vans, flatbed, but this is my first time ever seeing how double and triples are hooked and unhooked. Thank you Chuck for making this video and RUclips for allowing chuck to share this with the masses.

Chuck you are an awesome man of God and an inspiration brother. I miss the life of being out traveling as I used to. Studying for my Pastoral degree and a doctorate in theology. Seeing your messages week after week gives me some great content and inspiration. It's good brother. Keep it up and I will never miss an episode. God bless you and your amazing family in Jesus name.

I can completely agree with what you said about working overnights. I bid for the overnight shift in my shop for this year and after the first week or two I had no problem with it. I love how peaceful a truck shop can be at night since there are few drive ups and no management breathing down your neck. roadside service at night can be nice when its not winter and its not on a highway.

Wow Chuck. This is probably the best video you done so far to date. I loved the introduction of you loading up your pickup truck and seeing your nice and organized garage. I learned a lot with watching this video. I’m strictly a day person. I love doing days and being home at night. I think if I ever get my CDL and work for Estes I’d be a P&D driver because I like the quietness and not dealing with ppl. Just give me a truck and trailer and the open road.

Hi chuck! I was inspired with your videos while i was OTR. I wanted to stay closer to home and was looking into PnD or linehaul and your videos are very helpful. Ive noticed that otr drivers are easier to adapt to linehaul night driving than pnd. People who have never done otr driving is harder for them to adapt to night driving for local gigs, as we know when were on the road we drive days and nights makes it easier for otr drivers. I decided to do linehaul with a contractor in my state, training was great. This is my first week alone, the farthest we go is 600 miles round trip, no touch, terminal to terminal, home every morning, decent pay. Keep the videos coming , thanks alot for the informative videos you make! Stay safe out there .

I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out until finally I realized that I had to control the direction of the rear trailer by controlling the direction of the lead trailer. It felt really good the first time I backed down a street and then through a gate into the customers' yard.

Your right on the money with the whole P&D to bids to being on the board.. it's funny this popped up on my feed.. I'm at 017 Greensboro,NC.. being a dispatcher we use run numbers and put extra on freight that we need guys like you to take it helps central line yall up on the freight we need moved with the drive time yall have.. I started as a lead supervised a couple years then to get more home time started dispatching.. i tried to have my extra board drivers hooked and ready depending on how far behind we was and how many switchers was out.. now I have enough seniority in the office got 1st shift dock control.. hopefully my retirement position.. have you ever hooked and they changed your line up after you hooked? I've had guys mad because we had to change them up for hotter freight or gold 🏅s.. Rob takes good care of us.. might not have the best and newest equipment but we debt free and working when others are being laid off..

Always good to hear from a teammate!! I have only had my pre-plan changed once but that’s because a driver called off at the last minute and central had me cover his run. Other than that they have us planned and ready to go after our 10. Estes is a fine company and I enjoy being left alone to do the work. Extra board aka Easy Board we call it definitely suits me the best . I enjoy working for Central they don’t play around 😁. Keep up the great work we drivers appreciate our terminals great work.

I am surprised the boys run day cabs running line haul. That is usually not seen here in Australia at decent size companies especially. I guess your company puts them up in hotels or on work site accomodation?

hey bud how are ya? i work for a truckload carrier. i mostly run a shuttle lane from our tipp city, ohio terminal to wheeling, west virginia. then swap a load with another driver then either deliver a load or drop it back on the yard. i'm home every-night. i'm payed by the mile too. About 0.52 cents a mile, and been driving for a year. Now i'm thinking of switching to LTL work but i was interested in line haul. not sure what company would be best for me to start off with doing LTL work. thank you
