Did somebody hold a cell phone up to a TV screen for that ESPN clip? The audio is even worse than the video. I was alt tabbed and I thought someone started talking with their mic off.
I think there’s a fair case to be made that the NFL should pay the rest of Tua’s contract to force him from the league. There’s no way the NFL wants this being the topic, being shown each week, or risking having serious damage done to a high profile NFL player. I know that is a pretty drastic step, but we know a lot more know about the seriousness of these concussions and how the NFL could essentially hold a level of responsibility if something serious happens to Tua. A comparison in this scenario would be how in a game, the independent doctor can force someone out of the game because the first priority of a player is always going to be to play and be there for their team. Sometimes the best thing for an individual is at odds with their motivation to push through pain and be tough to be the leader of their team.
@LeBatardShow - as aRaptors fan, could you go into more detail about what had happened with Bosh and his injury that you hinted at? Us Raptors fans don't know the story. (Never Forget Bosh was one of ours before we let him go because of a rebuild)
Bosh had blood clots, had to take blood thinners which no dr cleared him to play since if he gets injured (broken bones etc.) He willndie from blood loss
Baghdad Bruschi had the best take I’ve heard so far. When he said he had to *convince* his wife to let him keep playing, he knew the risk. I don’t think Tua should keep playing but I know he will.
I know we play the results but he should of slid. You go all summer to learn how to fall. Come on what you doing going head first. This one was totally avoidable!
Im going to be blunt. Tua should retire. If he doesnt make that decision himself then the league and the Dolphins should for him. If they don't, then someone on the field will retire him.
@@xvxRoAcHxvx you're right, i need to be a neurologist to say that it's not normal to be locked up in a fencing position twice in 4 concussions. Nevermind already being carted off of the field in one of those times. Oh, I also dont need to be a neurologist to note that the last time a player went on the IR for concussions they never returned to the NFL again. Oh right, it's also not unheard of for a player to find a doctor to clear them to play and the league/teams say nah, you're done. (see Chris Bosh and his blood clot issues). Good thing you're not as smart or informed as you think you are. Now go away.
Tua is a great teammate and appears to be a good person. Now can we finally get a quarterback next off season? Why did Grier give him a contract when we all knew he was going to get injured again. We know how last season was his only injury free year. It's incredibly frustrating. Don't spin it. The offense is going to be really terrible without him running it.
*Eric Estrada Jr.* is crazy. Tua’s legacy is set at this point. _That legacy is Concussions._ There is no way he recovers from the FIVE he’s already suffered in five years and achieves everything he’s wanted to in pro football. It. Ain’t. Happening. Sucks, but let’s be real. His body cannot handle that level of physical abuse. It’s painfully obvious that the window to a great NFL career has closed on him, so what is he actually considering continuing for?🤔🤷🏾♀️ Also, His comments about others having an opinion on this matter are puzzling. If Tua is seriously listening to the likes of SAS, or LeBatard, or any other talking head, then that already tells us he’s taken one too many hits 😂 Everyone/anyone can have an opinion and air it publicly. Tagovailoa is a grown man. He doesn’t need protection from other people’s opinions🙄 That whole rant was just a weird take.
3 notorious Dolphins haters. Dan you've joined them I guess because you know they all want him out because it'll hurt the Dolphins that's all they care about
Tua spent his entire life getting to this point. He knows the risks. If he wants to take that risk to continue doing what he loves, then he is an adult and thats his choice.
Why should the NFL have any say in the decision? How about watching a preventable death on TV would make 10-20% of viewers leave and never come back. Tua should take his $90 million signing bonus and retire.
You all seem to think that Tua has the RIGHT to play football. He does not. This is the NFL and it is a privilege to play, not a right. And the NFL HAS THE RIGHT TO DENY A PLAYER ACCESS TO THE FIELD IF THEY HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO PUT THE ENTIRE LEAGUE IN A NEGATIVE LIGHT. IT WOULD BE NEGLIGENT TO PUT SOMEONE OUT ON THE FIELD WHO CANNOT TAKE A STANDARD FOOTBALL HIT WITHOUT RISKING SERIOUS INJURY. Smarten up and just stop with this nonsense that this is only Tua's decision. No one talks about how a defender feels about having to tackle someone like this, nor is anyone talking about what a defender is going to feel when they put a hit on Tua and he doesn't get back up again.
I’m tired of tua. He made 100 million and He should retire. If he gets another concussion then so be it. I won’t feel bad for him. I won’t care if He is a vegetable on 10-20 years. His decision and time to move on
Doctors that are employed by the league is a beyond blatant conflict of interest
This is what I was arguing last year when they were being blatant homers about him playing before he got that 2nd concussion.
Shame that players don't have their own doctors and are unable to ask for a 2nd opinion...oh wait...
Mike McDaniel looks like the kid in high school you should always be nice to because ya never know
Why would you pretend to be nice to someone? That joke is really outdated dude.
Thank you!!!!

I think if it happens again the viewers will be very uneasy watching him play knowing what he’s risking

Baghdad Bruschi’s still alive and kicking at ESPN???
Baghdad Bruschi had the best take I’ve heard so far. When he said he had to *convince* his wife to let him keep playing, he knew the risk. I don’t think Tua should keep playing but I know he will.
What’s gonna happen when he actually gets hit hard from the blind side?
That’s the problem. One huge hit could be game over and really sad
Who cares. Time to move on. If He wants to die then let him. He made 100 million and should retire. No player should avoid contact with him.
I would let him get 1 more, then officially retire. It’s sad but if I was Miami, that’s what I would do, you can’t fight nature, she’s undefeated
While we're at it can we cancel fighting sports, car racing, surfing, ect...
I know we play the results but he should of slid. You go all summer to learn how to fall. Come on what you doing going head first. This one was totally avoidable!
Chris Bosh had a guaranteed contract. It’s not the same. If Tua retires, he’s owed nothing by the franchise.
Im going to be blunt. Tua should retire. If he doesnt make that decision himself then the league and the Dolphins should for him. If they don't, then someone on the field will retire him.
Wow original take, he’s not retiring my guy
I'm gonna be blunt as well. Get high and forger tua ever existed the nfl will
@@spiderman2786ify it's no longer his choice to make. It's his employer's choice.
Good thing you're not a neurologist and your "blunt" opinion has zero weight with anybody.

It’s absurd some people on this show think Tua would play within 4 weeks - it’s over. It’s done. He will die on the field the next time.
3 notorious Dolphins haters. Dan you've joined them I guess because you know they all want him out because it'll hurt the Dolphins that's all they care about
It’s been 4 already. Stop pretending the “back” injury wasn’t one. He should retire.
Greg Cote is incapable of nuance lol. It's so remarkable
But it’s also not surprising
Greg Cote doesn’t have to deal with the brain damage Tua will deal with if he gets another concussion. So easy for him to spew that nonsense
Tua spent his entire life getting to this point. He knows the risks. If he wants to take that risk to continue doing what he loves, then he is an adult and thats his choice.

Where is Roger Goodell and all this… isn’t it literally his job to make a ruling on if this guy should play football or not
