I added an NFC Tag on my MagSafe Car Charger - it auto launches Maps when you mount the phone, and if you’re the type to give in to temptation to use your phone, once in a while the NFC tag will auto-kick back into Maps from whatever you’re doing.
It’s good practise to make a shortcut and then make the tag run that shortcut in personal automation. Therefore it’s easier to share and setup on other devices as personal automations can’t be shared. Also I like adding the vibrate device action to my NFC shortcuts so I know when it’s read the tag.
I can not get the vitamin shortcut to work. it does not check it off the reminder for some reason can you make a short video showing how to set it up please!!!
Thanks for the walkthrough but these shortcuts are not intuitive for me. For the vitamin one...I finally figured out the first step is "find reminders" but I don't know how you are doing the set is completed step. Can you do a walkthrough or share how to get/find/add that option to put that info in?
I created a shortcut to log our sexy times and slapped an NFC tag on my girlfriend so anytime we do the dirty, I just tap my phone to her forehead and, bam, it automatically logs it! Thanks AppleInsider!
Or you get an nfc tag and program it to open an app that fakes calls your phone. So in any situation you put tag in hand run it across your pocket with phone in it and it starts this app and you take your call.
Can you tap NFC tags/stickers with your AppleWatch and iPad? Also, when you log your coffee or water, instead of logging it into the Apple Health app, can you log it into a spreadsheet you've created in Apple Numbers? When I need to log food or drink that I've consumed, it would be helpful if the info could populate a spreadsheet in Numbers by simply tapping an NFC sticker instead of having to manually enter it into the spreadsheet.
I suspect you can’t use your Apple Watch rather than having to bring your phone with you just to tap an NFC tag? I may not be carrying my phone around the house all the time, but I surely have my watch on all the time.
I’ve hidden one at my work area and when I get there, I just tap it and it sends a text message to the people that I need to and let them know that I’m there and I have another one because my app let me clock in
I will make an Nfc tag that will activate my garden light and alarm, aswell as release my security dogs, in the event I have an intruder in my property. That same tag will also send a text msg neighbour's and the police if possible.
I am having trouble setting up an automation to clear a to-do as completed. I have the reminder as recurring but my options in shortcut look different. iOS 16.2. Any step by step help would be appreciated.
Make a shortcut, go make a personal automation with nfc option, search for execute command > select the shortcut u made for the nfc tag > and it works Sorry bad English
Sounds like a pain in the arse, having to take phone out of pocket all the time to tap stuff. Woukd be great if this could be done with a wrist watch type NFC reader
God it is so frustrating to see super helpful videos like this, take the time and money to purchase the supplies, and then cant get the stuff to work because Apple constantly changes their IOS with every update and nothing works like it says it does in the video. I give up.

Love the advice! Any tips for how to set it up so that my iPhone shortcuts control my Google home devices like lights, speakers etc?
I'm the same. NFC does not seem to like anything connected with IOS.

The Apple what has has a nfc sensor for Apple Pay but I don’t know if you can use it for shortcuts
@@nxiosonge I read somewhere that you can’t. Too bad.
Amazon NFC tag link is broken
Love these ideas. I use NFC for so many things. Love using them in a customizable way.
Cant get mine to switch anything on. I think NFC are really meant for android phones. I have set up one facetime link, but nothing else will work.
I love how intuitive this is . Is there a way to setup something like this on android ? I own a Samsung a52. Like BG running macros like this
There are nfc writer apps that you can download
On android you can do pretty much whatever you want. Especially with something like tasker
I like ur pfp

is there a away we can have short to display CCTV camera when we tap on NFC tag?
I love your videos keep it up🎥
Can a different phone trigger the same action? If not, is there another way to initiate iOS shortcuts?
I saw an app called NFC Tools had the option to write a shortcut on it, but it needs more research.
simple and useful tip. thank you for sharing.
Possible so other family member can use same nfc tag?

Goodness, you can do a lot. Well done. My NFC's dont work on a IOS phone.

Do you have the option to choose "Edit Reminder" It'll show up as Set .. once you select on it. I am also on iOS 16.2.
Happy wife, happy life ;)
Where did you get your background
Hey how to add my key card and want to scan in my gate.. how to enable in nfc..
you need rfid tags and a rfid reader/writee
Do i need to program the nfc chip itself?
Make a shortcut, go make a personal automation with nfc option, search for execute command > select the shortcut u made for the nfc tag > and it works
Sorry bad English
are you programming your phone or the tags?

iPhones are so far behind Android phones it's laughable. But there is one thing iPhones do better and that is NFC tags.
Yawn. No they’re not
@@betgroup8408 yawn...yes they are.
