Norm was fearless. Fittingly for the debate of the two eras present on Howard’s Program: Dennis was Norm’s fav and Norm was Dennis’ fav at the Weekend Update desk, which about says it all.
am going to agree with your picks and I was around from the beginning, in fact that whole Era was the best, from Phil Hartman, Dana, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler the mid 80s crew....
I didn't "get" Colin as much on SNL. Didn't watch it much those years. Then I saw a standup special and realized how bright he was. He was hilarious and his take on history was sometimes profound.
@Gr8Layks if his opinion is that this line is the most iconic to him, why would he need to name anything else that would be inferior to his original choice?. Stop looking for an excuse to be a goof, you obviously don't need one.
Norm was great, Dennis was probably a little over people's heads so late at night because I always had been out drinking all night and maybe not paying too much attention.
I love how whenever Dana is talking about someone he emulates their character and their tone of voice because when he starts to talk about Dennis he starts to immediately talk about Dennis and if you remember he did a wicked impersonation of Dennis
Norm, Dennis and the rest were always smiling and laughing at jokes they knew were coming. But Dan and Jane played it straight like what they were reporting was real, but incredibly bizarre and came out of nowhere.
Norm McDonald, hands down. Unafraid.
Agreed 💯
Or so the Germans would have you believe…
😊😅
100% correct Norm
Agreed
Norm is the best. His OJ jokes were hilarious. 😂
and frank stallone
And his Richard Simmons jokes 😂
These legends are being nice but it’s Norm and they know it.
And hillary
Dennis Miller would even say Norm was the best Update anchor
Dennis did say that
Warms my heart to see all the love for Norm here
Holy shit you aren't kidding.
I scrolled for a good minute and see a unanimous "norm, hands down" consensus.
Norm. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
You only say that because he’s in the ground.
@@KrazieB7You only say that because you obviously haven’t watched much of weekend update - if you had, you would know Norm is the best
Norm and it isn’t close.
I’d wager you’ve seen nothing but Norm Update on RUclips. It’s close.
@@sealife12 Nah.. its not. I've seen many.
@@sealife12Let me ask you this: uh... uh, do you own a dog house?
It isn't close.
@@sealife12It’s really not that close. Norm was completely unafraid - to the point he was told to stop with the OJ jokes & he just kept doing them.
@@sealife12I’ll bite, who’s close?
Norm McDonald. Absolute stone-cold assassin. RIP.
Norm’s cadence, voice and intriguing smile for the hard win.
Norm McDonald is the correct answer.
According to you
Brad Hall or Chris Guest.
Norm Macdonalds delivery on those jokes were master class.
The OJ jokes alone makes Norm the GOAT.
Dennis would say Norm. Dennis would probably say Norm was one of the best comics ever, especially at talk show improvising.
Norm will always be my favorite!!
Norm was fearless. Fittingly for the debate of the two eras present on Howard’s Program: Dennis was Norm’s fav and Norm was Dennis’ fav at the Weekend Update desk, which about says it all.

The only correct answer is Norm
Weird answer when it was clearly Norm.
Dennis Miller was very , very good , but Norm MacDonald was ten times better .
Carvey clearly stated that he picked Miller because they were on at the same time. He barely knew Norm.
We all know the correct answer is Norm...
Norm McDonald was the funniest "Weekend Update" anchor. Dana Carvey was the funniest SNL player in history.
Miller was absolutely brilliant.
Stormin' Norman!

Kevin Nealon and Norm Mcdonald by far two of the funniest people to ever sit in that seat.
Norm! Next question....
Norm, Colin Quinn and Dennis Miller
am going to agree with your picks and I was around from the beginning, in fact that whole Era was the best, from Phil Hartman, Dana, Chris Farley, Adam Sandler the mid 80s crew....
Colin Quinn could barely deliver his lines. Always mealy mouthed and stumbling over his words. I couldn't stand that.
Ty. I was coming to post norm, then colin. Colin quinn is severely underrated in show biz. One of the greatest comedians.
Close. Norm, Dennis, Colin.
I didn't "get" Colin as much on SNL.
Didn't watch it much those years. Then I saw a standup special and realized how bright he was.
He was hilarious and his take on history was sometimes profound.
The most iconic Weekend Update line belongs to Dan Ackroyd... "Jane, you ignorant sl-t!"
Aykroyd
Name another. You can’t 👎
@Gr8Layks if his opinion is that this line is the most iconic to him, why would he need to name anything else that would be inferior to his original choice?. Stop looking for an excuse to be a goof, you obviously don't need one.
Why do people always forget the brilliance of Colin Quinn
He's not memorable
Colin Quinn is on the record with a Norm vote.
@@illfather7066love Quinn
With all his stammering and stuttering how could anyone understand what he was saying?
If it were not for Colin Quinn we would not have been given the greatest comedy gift of all-time Patrice O'Neal
Norm
Norm and Farley was a classic
Dennis was my favorite.
Love Dana Carvey ❤
Dana Carvey has evolved into Eric Clapton.
Yes!!!

Gary oldman too
I thought Dennis Miller killed it.
Loved Dennis, but norm was king
@@ericgaskins571Dennis was intelligent, Norm was just odd
He gets pissed
This is the America we need back..funny unafraid to offend everyone.
I grew up watching Dennis Miller and he had the best balance of anchorman and dry humor. Norm was fun on a different level more absurdity.
For me it’s
1) Norm
2)Dan & Jane
3) Kevin Nealon
4) Chevy
Norm Norm Norm

I was waiting for Kevin Bacon to give his input but then it was Dana Carvey talking
Dennis was great, as were most. None of them in the same universe as Norm. RIP to the GOAT. ❤
That's a lot of words for 'Norm MacDonald'
Wow didn't mention any of the women hosts- Jane Curtain, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Cecily Strong.
Howard hated Dennis when he got the NFL announcer job.
He got the nfl job after he went crazy.
So did America.
Fouts clearly hated him and stepped on every joke Miller tried to tell during the broadcast.
