I’m going to be using vetric desktop, and my machine is the Oneinfinity....is this the correct combination for post processor?....I’m very new to this and I’m watching your videos about two or three times in a row.... I pickup something new each time..thanks so much for your slow, but very detailed explanations!

Thank you, Randy. This would be a question for the folks at Onefinity. I have no idea which control software they use, and each one is different. Their support folks would have the answer you need, as they know the machine and associated software best.

Have you created a video on managing changing bits during a project? I seem to have difficulty getting the start point correct between bit changes.

Good video Mark. Unfortunately my machine is a Laguna (I love it), but it is proprietary and I can only use 7 or 8 digit filenames. 😢

Mark Thanks for another video .there are a lot of great new upgrades it 10.5
But I have a question about using the machine bed to set your Z height. Have ever seen a video on how the software works using the bed.( how does it know where to start cutting into the material) and what happens if you are off in your material thickness

Hello Mark. I have been trying to reach you via e-mail but that doesn't seem to be available any more. I was wanting to ask a question so I hope you find it here. I got an e-mail from Vectric telling me that I can upgrade to V-carve Pro version 10.5 for $175.00. I am tempted to do it, but what I'm wondering is this. Is 10.5 the same as my 8.5 version but with added features, or is the program totally different in that I would have to start all over again learning a new system? If I have to start from square one again, I will just stay with what I have, but I have watched some of your video's where you are using features that mine doesn't have and thought it would be nice to have those on mine too. Thanks for any input you can provide with this Mark, or maybe someone else reading this could fill me in too. Thanks again for the help.
    Jim Scott

Thanks for the heads up, Jim! Turns out my website had a problem, and that page was just gone. My webmaster was in the hospital, but now that he's home, everything got fixed last night.
To your question - no, you won't have to learn a new system. Everything you used in 8.5 is there in 10.5, and the layout is almost the same. Some things have moved, and new features were added. I would support the move to 10.5 wholeheartedly. It's got a lot of improvements that were very much needed. After you get it, I would suggest you go to Vectric's RUclips channel and look at their What's New in VCarve Pro videos for Version 9.0, 9.5, 10.0, and finally 10.5 to get the entire rundown. Some of them are pretty long, but they go through and show you all the new features, and briefly describe how to use them. There are enough differences between 8.5 and 10.5 that I think watching those videos in order would be a benefit.
I did a quick search of their RUclips channel and came up with this list. Scroll down and check out the VCarve Pro videos, starting with Version 9.0. ruclips.net/user/vectricsearch?query=New+in+VCarve+Pro

instead of renaming the files, why not add the tool name to the toolpath to begin with (at least the first one from which the filename is derived)?
also, if you normally use the same tool for the final profile cut, it might be worth while to set up a distinct tool for this purpose so that it won't group with other toolpaths...
