I’ve always loved Universal Head’s Rules Sheets on BGG, and now that I know he’s on RUclips, I can enjoy even more content. Excellent work as always, Peter!
@@EsotericOrderGamers It’s been awhile… probably 5 years or so since I was heavily on BGG… I blame D&D’s rise to popularity again, lol. Covid’s gotten me back on the board game kick again… captive household to replay all the old games and get me going on new ones, 😃!
For camo, you want to make areas that would be light, dark and then darker areas lighter. This is what I learned as a young man living on a military base.
I was unhappy with the subtlety of my paint job. The detail on these minis is good but not as pronounced as 40K so my dry brushing etc was... mute. After watching this I went back and added more 'painty'/'cartoony' highlights as you suggested, and as you say from play distance they REALLY pop now and I'm much happier with them, thanks for the tips great videos, also did the eyes, which I initially avoided, the way you showed and they look great. Really pleased.
Amazing work. I am doing exactly like in this video, but Gorman should IMO have a green outfit :D I also spent couple hours on ripleys shoes and then I gave up on the details..
Really nice paintjob! I could've and possibly maybe should've taken the time to do this, but instead decided to settle for "tabletop quality" and only spent 30 min on each figure - with the magic of GW's Contrast paints ^^ Sometimes I just want to get some paint on the minis and start playing! X)
Looks really good, think I might stay away from the camo and do a flat OD green. I have done the Ww2 German pea dot camo. But it takes up so much time to do haha
They're on the product pages. If you click the link to the base game or each expansion, those pages have images of the pained miniatures you can download.
I don't know what you mean by normal paint, but you can strip the paint from miniatures before repriming. Generally, Dettol is a product I've used for this in the past, but do your research and test carefully first. Plastics vary greatly and I take no responsibility if the plastic melts! :)
@@EsotericOrderGamers oh and thank you for your video mate, i used to it help me paint Ripley and Newt once ive done the Marines ill do the highlighting, many thanks. top work bud.
Good tutorial, I almost did the same way from the video, tough your highlighting was too much for my taste and the skin color didnt turn out so good for me as for you in the video, hovewer I tried to copy it.

Very nice, Ill reference this when doing my lot.
Amazing!!! I bought this for some weeks ago! have painted them to, but they was very small figures!! i use Light helm glasses =)

Interesting - though in this case it's a whole lot of tiny, tiny blobs! :)
Freaking love your painting vids! Thanks for uploading
Short, controlled bursts - prime your minis the same way you take down the xenomorphs!
dakka dakka!
Brilliant!
Please do Ripley in the power loader!

Yeah, sometimes there are definite diminishing returns when it comes to painting very fine details. :)
@@EsotericOrderGamers would it even be worth doing all the highlights on Gorman? Couldnt you just drybrush him?
I'm sooo jealous of your summer right now! :D
We had a loooong, long winter before this. :)

I completely understand and endorse that sentiment! These aren't pieces for display, they're for playing!
Thank you very much for the video. Its really helpfull! SUBSCRIBED
Thanks for this. I had ago before this video, and I need that wet palette 😬
You do indeed, it's essential!
I use a soaked folded up paper towel and it does the job.
@@Flayne009 Trust me, a wet palette will do a much better job.

If I did them again I probably would have done the same! Detailed camouflage doesn't really translate well onto minis of this scale.
So whats a list of all the colors you used for these and the xenomorphs??
I've started listing the paints in future videos but not in this one sorry.
Nice work, i can't find the miniature images on any place, do you know where i can download it? Thanks, greetings from México
I'm afraid your Google-fu will be just as good as mine for this.
great vid
Very useful guidance. Do you have a list of the paints you use so I can put it on my shopping list cheers 👍
No I don't have a list, but I believe I mention the paints as I go through the process.
You lives on The Shire, hobbits on the window!! xD
Quick, get 'em, they dig up the garden! ;)
I'm having trouble attaching the alien to the round base. Any ideas?
Where is that guide you downloaded that shows all the painted minis? Can’t find it on gf9 website.
I just googled it and found the pictures.

What camera do you use for filming when your painting?
A Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II. A good camera, though I find the autofocus frustratingly slow.

I'd really suggest asking the publisher, not an independent content provider on RUclips! :)

Nothing tricky, just Kislev Flesh with a bit of white added for the highlight.
