Had my idol nearly two years..great fish eats well and great characters. Doesn't annoy my coral and hangs out with everyone from my koi tang to my marine betta
1:24:45 Vitalis LPS pellets Alex? I use them to feed my Acanthos and Scolys which go down a treat, then spray the powdered bits in the dissolved water to my gonis

I have mad mine for over a year. He eats the Seaweed Xtream medium pellets on an auto feeder bet he also eats all food I put in the tank. With corals he bites everything once and then never touches it again. I mostly have LPS and some SPS. A lot of torches, hammers, frogs paws. Bites them once and then never again. 😊
Something of note with acans changing color. They tend to go all red with higher par over 120. Maybe in your old SPS dominant tank they were getting too much light?
And wild rainbow acans can change color dramatically while adjusting to our home aquariums sometimes losing several colors.
I have had great luck with rainbow strains that have been in captivity for several years not changing color on me.
I have a Moorish Idol...She mostly eats Nori...I found a high fiber / high protein nori ...I have had her for 2 months now....looking good so far. She is getting fat and healthier looking. My favorite fish!!!!!
I noticed some of my fish were having trouble defecating. I was able to find a high fiber frozen food that looks like shrimp pieces. Hikari bio pure "Mega Marine Angel". It has "crude fiber" at 10.0%. Highest I found. I live in Arizona but I'm sure Hikari is available in thr UK. Good luck!!!

Just catching up on last night's stream, did you say you had some issues with the reefzlements pH plus where you needed to run a powerhead when dosing? I was looking at using reefzlements in the future
Yep - I dose it directly into a powerhead in my Cade tank. Before I did that, it just formed a clump on the bottom of the sump. I haven't done that for the Red Sea yet, so I'll see how it goes. I've diluted it 50/50 with RODI water which should help...
News of the Week. Biota has started breeding Raccoon Butterflyfish. I love the look of those and always wanted one but they will eat your coral for sure. Anyway always love spreading aquaculture news.
Brightwell and seachem both make a liquid additive for finicky fish. Entice and angelixir and designed for angels butterflies and the moorish idol. Has anyone tried them. I bet they would work great to get them to eat nori!
My moorish idol loses his streamer about once a month. I don’t know if it’s from a power head or another fish but it grows back in about a week.
Ryan with BRST had a guy on his show one time. They were talking about “fish that were hard to keep“ that really weren’t. He stated the Moorish Idol really is not that hard to keep as long as you know what to properly feed it. Like you were saying the fiber. So what do you feed them to get them the fiber do you just feed them Nori? Is there a special seaweed food that you get, what are you feeding it Alex?
Saw after I posted where you put the percentage of fiber and that one food that had 13%. Is that adequate enough?
Don't know but that's the highest I can find at the moment. The guy you're talking about is Elliott from Marine Collectors - he was on Tidal Gardens' most recent video too...

I hope it works too! Moorish Idols are one of my dream fish also. When I upgrade to an 8 or 10ft tank I’m getting one for sure.

I’m shocked that with 3D printing, someone hasn’t printed clear covers for wet side of vortex power heads (and many other intank items. Is this something you could do? Is there protected reasons it’s not being done? I’ll be your best costumer if you’re able.
Do you mean transparent? It's not really possible to print see through stuff unfortunately
