We used to put rams in a small pen but we’d put a few old tires in the pen. It would help with them getting a running start at each other

I know people who put tires in the pen, but I am always afraid one of the rams will hurt his leg on one while getting pushed around.
I have put empty protein tubs in with them though.

That is the ONLY safe way to put rams back together!
Have you ever used an phone app for record keeping- no papers blowing away ?

I keep my records in Excel but find it easier to write things on paper while working. It’s faster for me.

That's great to know. I might be getting a 3 year old an will have to introduce him to a yearling an 2 spring lamb rams. Any advice?? Also would you have to do this if both where running with the flock?? Thanks

If the rams have been running together, this probably isn't a problem. However, I would watch them when first separating from the ewes.
As far as adding an older ram to your group of young rams, I would pen them up. Better safe than sorry. Once you see the group has established a pecking order, you need to make sure the "lower class" ones have a way to get away. Don't leave them in there getting beat up because they can't get away. Don' separate them back out, give them space.

How do you introduce weanling rams with older rams?

I don’t run my older rams with weaning Rams because of feeding them differently.
