@@Grind2Excellence it used to back in okc but if you got no speed to go with a deep bag then it doesn’t rlly work pg is my favourite player and he definitely does chuck up too much threes he needs to drive more and try draw a foul or go for a middie
Paul George is at his best when he can get to the rim consistently and shoot based on his driving threat. It’s that simple, he can’t just shoot contested jumpers all the time. Such a simple thing that you think you wouldn’t have to say but yeah, I’d say it comes down to his explosiveness like you said. Can’t consistently get by people, and can’t jump up at the rim. Yeah none of this interesting no matter where Paul George goes he’s not going to win anything. Maybe if he is a spot up shooter as a role player but him as a 1st or second option isn’t winning you anything
Paul George is what Kobe described as Accidental Basketball, a lot of structureless drive and kick. Imagine a player of PG's skill set in a structured offense. He has the ability to thrive in the triangle, and running off screens like Rip/ray allen.. he plays a lot of 1on1 or pick and roll and takes a lot of contested shot instead of looking for uncontested shots
I think he needs the right pieces around him which is a solid PG, decent shooters, and a solid big man. He is often ask to play out of position especially guarding a lot of the smaller quicker guards which wears him down over the course of a series. Fatigue is the reason for inconsistency at times.
Ppl were telling me to worry abt Harden but PG after AD is probably the most inconsistent player in the league considering his potential. WIthout Kawhi out there, he should have been taking min 25 shots a game
