      So the songs and everybody’s playing on them improve incrementally as we play them more and more. By the time we hit the studio, we will be a well oiled machine. 🙌🏼🥁👊🏼

    • @larrymarcus3176
      @larrymarcus3176 15 дней назад +1

      @@ShlomoZOGelstein
      Metal playing and fusion or jazz or rock are all different worlds and require not just speed but technique articulation and tasteful execution. Great drummers can play all plus Latin, brushes, softly or bombastically. I hear Buddy Rich play a Bonham track after an interviewer told him he couldn’t do it after buddy stated Bonham plays simplistically and it’s easy. He then proved it. At least according to his skill set that is. I’ve taught for years had students who could smoke me playing metal due to their stamina but couldn’t play a jazz or blues or rock rhythm to save their soul. Just like some could learn yo read but barely but could play beautifully or vice versa. I tried to teach a varied complete art of drumming but focused on what their natural capabilities or desires were. I don’t like playing to lots of different types of music but I can play to anything not with as much stamina as younger years but a 10 minute solo is fine no longer a twenty minute unless I just doodle diddle away then I can play for hours. When one can lay down what the music demands and do it to all genres of music then they are a prolific musician doesn’t matter what the music is. That’s what makes guys like Stanton, Weckle, Gadd, and Vinny c great. Neal Peart was a great drummer but not in this tier he could play almost anything well but lacked that final capacity of emotionally and technically nail it. That’s my opinion of course which is based on my own subjectivity. Some drummers just want to be a metronome and that’s fine others want to be fast like lightening and that’s fine but the greats are like all things the whole shebang it’s their natural proclivity part of their being and it’s admirable. Stanton doesn’t play like Cobham, but if he wants to he can or like Jeff Hamilton all infused into his own personality. Can’t wait to hear him play a few years from now to see where he goes
