      Are you sure about that? I mean you guys want to sell Salah bcuz he isn't quite so productive despite being the most influential players for Liverpool over 3 years running. Oh and Mane too, bcuz selling him would get you a lot of money so you could buy an unproven teenager just for the sake of that teenager being English. You guys think Liverpool wins just bcuz fans chant Allez Allez, Not bcuz Liverpool team has some of the best hardworking players playing for the team despite they can earn double that amount if they decide to move elsewhere. Grow up and show some respect to your own players who gave you a CL trophy and soon a PL title too.

    personally, i feel their ability to adapt and play different style makes a massive difference. They can play possession-based football with smart movement, can press high when they need. Equally devastating on the counter while sitting back, dangerous while attacking set pieces. They can take a more direct long ball approach as well. Its like they can beat Burnley at their own game as well as outplaying teams like City. They can go gung-ho playing high-intensity football like they did vs Barcelona in the second leg. Then they can also take a pragmatic approach like they played against Spurs in the UCL final. They really adapt well according to their opposition and game situation. Of course one thing they never lack while playing in any style is intensity.

And ofcourse there will be the odd game where the team will lose and that's football but it cannot be denied that Liverpool have been on another level in the past year or so.

      Wellllllll the intensity is the lede you buried: LFC can do all that because they’re busting their asses running the entirety of the pitch every which way.
      But we saw what became of the spurs after they came out of a few years without trophies. Clearly that’s not LFC’s fate, but I think Pep’s anal passing systems are more tenable in the long haul.

    Liverpool is a perfect example of what happens when a team is consistently allowed to grow and a manager given enough time to develop his team. I see same thing happening at Chelsea with Frank Lampard in the future. Just hope he’s given enough time for his team of youngsters to blossom.

      @Harris Zaindi Liverpool fan here... But your analysis is pretty much as simplistic as those simpleton lads who says that Liverpool's wins are only due to other big teams doing such a poor jobs. Which is pretty much don't explain anything in terms of tactical sides of football which was actually the main premis of why you doubt that Lampard isn't gonna have as succesful career as Klopp..
      For me he only needs that balance to up his side's defensive solidity & organizations, and maybe adding more richness to his tactics other than just passing the ball for a thousand times in a match. Definitely a room for improvement right there.

    • @joshbrown2217
      @joshbrown2217 4 года назад +6

      @Harris Zaindi Tbf as a Chelsea fan, I totally agree with you. Lampard at times has shown that he isn't that tactically astute and Chelsea fans have really overexaggerated how good he has been due to the character shown in big games.
      That being said, I think he is showing growth in that area and it's also worth noting that as we have young players, they tend to struggle to stick to a tactical plan for the whole game, which Lampard is struggling with.
      We also had quite a few injuries and no players coming in, which means we've had to stick to one style of play.
      Although yes Lampard is not as tactically good as Klopp yet, he has shown signs as to where he can get and where we can get, we have every right to be excited about it.
      But really we won't know until we can get in new players/players come back from injury and see if Lampard (& Jody Morris) can carry on growing with his tactical knowledge
      It's also worth noting that Arsenal are too far down the table to catch us and United has a major injury crisis and struggle against teams who sit back (who they had a run of games against coming when the season paused) so I think there is every reason to believe we could just edge it

    • @joshbrown2217
      @joshbrown2217 4 года назад +8

      @Harris Zaindi You also mention about our lowest points tally, but you also got to remember that we had a transfer ban and lost our best player, so we would obviously be performing worse in terms of points.
      In terms of playing, I say on average our play has been better than Mourinho's 2nd season in his 2nd term and Conte's 2nd season, Flippe Scolari and Avram grant's time with us.
      So there is some hope for us to build on that.
      Also, you act like building on Sarri's tactics is a bad thing? He has a great system and really us Chelsea fans should really be grateful to him, as he has turned us into a pretty competent attacking side. But I think it's a testament to Lampard that he's managed to build on this. Once we get more players, I think then he can start making it a bit more like his team, but even so, i reckon Sarri has given Chelsea a new identity of play to use for the years to come.

    As a utd fan ive really enjoyed studying liverpool and how they've been so much better than us. OGS and Klopp oppsite ends of scale. I still maintain much more sheer talent exists in rash, martial and Greenwood (who'll be a legit great)
    But that system is incredible and system should come first. Id totally agree in my observations of Liverpool the only thing Id add is i think liverpools main premise is making defenders defend on the move attack the box whilst they are moving forward or back. At times i think they try and draw teams out with central passing too. Very very clever. Klopp is the man
    Only good thing about dinosaurs like OGS is they believe in individual players doing things (coz they dont have a fucking clue themselves) and you cant beat watching players do that. Other end of the spectrum you have pepp ball - no taking players on unless you are in or adjacent to the box. Its ruining Fodens career. Sancho clever as fuck getting out as an old school little magican type.

    • @jayjoshi1028
      @jayjoshi1028 4 года назад +1

      Ole and Klopp are very similar. They both believe in a centralized system, and their tactically ability comes through in big games. Ole outsources tactics to Mike Phelan - its Phelan who gives most of the instructions during the game. Ole is pretty good at man management: getting the most out of the players, giving them confidence and belief. If you look at Klopp's first few years at Liverpool and Ole's time at United, you would see a similar thing - good performances against good teams, poor performances against bad teams.
      Klopp inherited a very bad squad - which is why it took him close to 3.5 years to get them somewhere. Ole inherited a really good squad (on paper), but a very badly put together team. There was absolutely no cohesion. Van Gaal and Mou were opposites in tactics and Ole got a half-Van Gaal and half-Mou team. Ole was able to bring in 5 players, of which 3 are clear first team players. Ole must challenge for the title next season, or at least come closer to challenging.

    • @PermanentMerka
      @PermanentMerka 4 года назад +1

      @@jayjoshi1028 Very crude assessment they are only simular to the untrained eye in directness look at the difference in attributes of the midfilders, look at the difference in the organisation of the press. Look at the vastly different roles of the 9. Look at the directness its self, how Liverpool can hold the ball wide whilst united dont have that physicality and 'channel lump' then to often dont follow with effective pressing. Klopp has several practiced methods of how to create chances. Ole or his team seem to leave it upto individual players, it took Bruno to come in and scream at people to make sure space between the lines was occupied whilst someone else had defenders shoulders. When you refer to big game tactics too you possibly make this common mistake. Managers often will tweak formations in big games and because this in evident in team sheets in gains attention but this is usually just a tweak to a set way of playing a plan (a) tactic if you like. People then associate tactics with big games "he's left 'Startinio' out" but the majority of tactics is things you do on the training ground to form patterns of play. It is, i would argue never more important than in games against lesser teams in lower blocks. Well drilled and well functioning teams, think City last year often make it look like the oppo isnt hardly trying to 'park the bus' when they are as pepps 'fill space' method drags them out of place. They nip down the side pull back then goal. Its how you remain consistant and get massive points totals. That is where the majority of tactics are - play patterns Ole cant even get set patterns going down the sides of the pitch. Klopp opens up the game from there!

    Liverpool are the most efficient, organised and versatile team in football today. Their goals come from all over the pitch and in many different ways. They have no "system" and seldom play to a rigid set up. Their players are allowed freedom to express themselves on the pitch and communication between the players is almost telepathic. Most of the players have to cover lots of ground on the pitch which can be physically taxing and demands supreme fitness levels and concentration. Their mental discipline and self belief is also second to none.
    I would say that before the season was suspended there were some signs of fatigue and a little complacancy due to their massive lead in the league. But when you put this into context compared to other teams in the league, Liverpool's consistency was astounding.

    The only issue with Liverpool at present is them playing domestic cups with their B and C teams. Most of the players get annual wages of over 7 million dollars so if one doesn't play them it is going to be useless. It has now hurt Liverpool that they lost the champions League and lost their unbeaten run to Watford. They were expected to land to win many trophies this season after playing so well, I am sure they will be disappointed.

      1. You can't win the Champion's League every year. The injury to Alisson was much more a factor than players being rested 2. No one gives a fuck about the League Cup and the ties where the youth players got a chance were valuable to their growth and confidence 3. God forbid Klopp respect the winter break he's pushed so hard to get. The players deserve a rest, especially after playing the Club World Cup, and all normal comps inbetween.

      @@alexburky9124 What I meant was this season everyone expected something great from Liverpool. They had everything in this season to be called one of the great teams that ever played, that sort of thing. And sometimes when a team needs to achieve something like that they need to stretch beyond their limits. I don't think premier League players are pushed hard if you were to compare them to players from teams like real Madrid. Often when these players who were great in the premier League move to more demanding clubs they suffer injuries. And Liverpool playing their second best team in the 5th round tie against a side like Chelsea was overconfidence and disrespectful, remember at that time they had the chance to win the treble.

    It would be nice to highlight Jordan Henderson's development. How he has played a few different roles at Liverpool and remains integral to the squad. He has had an interesting career at the club switching from defensive midfielder to box to box, right midfielder and even has been at right back, yet remaining as captain.

      Perry The Platypus oh fuck off. Olé’s currently doing what klopp as doing at the start. Klopp didn’t just come in and win a CL. He started by barely getting into the europa league. He started by building a base and a vision. Liverpool fans stuck with klopp and look how that got them. Ole’s doing the same thing. He’s pulled a club from 7 years of mistakes and mistakes. He’s building a vision. If klopp came in right now we would still be mediocre for a few more years. Wait and be patient.
