@Atlas John's retired because he couldnt continue without being on the gear. Played a fair bit of origin with #9 on his back. That's how good of half-back he was. Nsw media needed a hero and he was anointed. Locky, Smith, JT, Billy must be all locks for immortality if John's can make it.
