Awesome! Always wondered why more people don’t measure this way, no need for offset. Will be ordering a set of Intro wheels soon.

Just a heads up guys. These videos where a school project from a young man in our community. He approached us looking for help for his production class. In no way where they intended to be used here on youtube. He put them on youtube to demonstrate his ability to produce not his ability to teach you all about wheels. He had to produce this video and teach his classmates something. If you need help with bolt patterns, back spacings or anything else we would be more than willing to help anyone. just visit www.coyswheel.com

Before, I didn't understand wheel backspacing!
Wheel width (were tire seats) + 1" = Total wheel width (from edge to edge)
Total wheel width - Backspacing (suspension side) = How much goes out (street side)
Backspacing is the measure from the wheel mounting surface to the inner wheel's side.
Offset in the measure from the wheel mounting surface to the wheel's center line.

Offset IS the measure from the wheel mounting surface to the wheel's center line.

One of the best videos i have seen, well done. I had one question... If i know the backspace of the rim i want to order, for example 20x10 , bolt 5x115 , 20mm offset , how would i know the tire won't rub inside because i was informed that it can rub my shocks. WHen i take my tire off, from which point can i take measurements ? I would like starting from my shocks is one point, but where would i need to measure the other end? This is on a 2013 dodge challenger RT ... thanks

So just to clarify - backspace and offsets are the same. Even though they are measured using different calculations, they still arrive at the same number?
Also are you saying shops list rims' sizes as seen. Pretty much they do not consider the inner-lip in their measurements. They literally measure just from edge to edge?
Big thanks for your video though. If my questions above are correct, then I believe I understand this now.

Ok, i understand how to "find" what the backspacing is on the rims, but i cannot find a video that tells me how to know how much backspacing i can have, or how to find out how much backspacing i can have, any videos for that?

    1 quick question is the 5 1/2 is that a -5 1/2 or + 5 1/2?
